2/10Didn't advertise it was buffet only. Waiting staff were useless teenagers, that couldn't make eye contact and awkwardly mumbled at you. Food looked awful, like you were going round your nans house Xmas leftovers.

6.5/10The food (beef) wasn’t up to its usual standard, it had a lot of fat and gristle and the roast potatoes as my daughter put were like boiled not done very well as in my previous visits. On a good side the dessert was nice. Also we had to wait quite a time for the food to arrive.

6/10Lovely setting and friendly staff with good good but it’s embarrassing when we have £50 Yums redemption and restaurant don’t know anything about and ask for proof in front of other diners. This is not the first time it’s happened in other restaurants and we feel more training is required with restaurant owners on the rules of Yums.

8.5/10I thought that the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. I would come again just a shame that it wasn’t recognised this it was our wedding Anniversary after putting it on the reservation.

10/10My husand and myself love coming to the restaurant.It is so quiet and you feel you are not rushed to leave.The food is amazing and the staff are very attentive. We have brought many friends that also loved the restaurant. It has been a great find. Thank you,Nadia and MatthewWilliams.

7/10my meal was nice, my girlfriend didn't enjoy hers so much, but I think she wasn't used to this kind of food! the place is very peaceful especially outside. Its in a retirement village which isn't obvious when booking.

+2Lovely food and reasonable prices for wine and beer. Staff could be more attentive, e.g. how was your meal, would you like any coffee, anything else I can get you? We went on a Sunday at 3pm and it was very quiet. Pleasant patio outside to finish our drinks in the sun.

10/10All things including food and service are excellent, except we had spent some time to explain what the YUM dollar was. We used YUM dollars for this visit, but it seems the restaurant did not know what exactly the YUM dollar was. I think The Fork needs to do better communication on this with the respective restaurants that accept YUMS. Except this, the visit was perfect.

10/10All the staff were fantastic, excellent service provided & the afternoon tea was delicious. The sandwiches were perfect & the cakes & fruit scone were devine! Definitely worth a visit. Absolutely stunning grounds & setting too. The building is beautiful. A perfect afternoon out! Thank you!

4.5/10Hadn’t realised this doubled up as a restaurant for residents who were elderly . Sandwich and cake selection pretty standard. Cakes were a disappointment in that sponges were quite dry . Staff did their best to make us feel welcome but all in all a disappointing experience as a birthday treat

7.5/10We choose Symonds as on the level (mobility probs in our group), peaceful and friendly environment. Today, however the smell of chips hit us as soon as we entered the lobby area and overpowered the restaurant too .. not pleasant. The lunchtime menu choices were very tired. Has been the same for fair few months! My dish of chicken Milanese was a soggy breadcrumbed over-cooked chicken escalope on a stalky salad . V disappointing! The bar served me an old fashioned cocktail made with a peaty single malt (not my taste) with no orange. If shld be made with bourbon and definitely an orange twist! I sent it back. Please don’t let things slide to this level! It would be such a shame ????
