10/10Delicious food, nice environment. You can enjoy the live performance if sitting outside of the restaurant. The service was very good as well. Will definitely visit again!

10/10We have been coming to Tapas Stories for a number of years because we love the food and the location. Last night was the best ever - great atmosphere, attentive and charming waiter and great food! A big 'well done' to all in the kitchen too! Thank you - we will see you soon x

6/10This place DOES NOT have a toilet onsite, so be prepared to pay £1.50 to use privately owned one across from the restaurant. It would have been nice to have known about this prior to the visit. There’s so many tables squeezed together, we were all sitting so close to each other we could easily hear other peoples conversations & vice versa. Not good. When it comes to food, it was average. Gambas were not, but regular prawns. Taste was alright. The service was good & waiter tried to make us feel comfortable but it was all a little awkward. We booked via The Fork app with 30% off food deal, but they didn’t know about it & we had to ask. Overall, have to give it 2 stars. Luckily there’s so many better places to eat in London. At least there’s no shortage of those. Unfortunately we won’t b back to this one.

10/10Quaint and charming tapas place in the heart of Covent Garden. Tasty dishes, though I'm not sure I'd go back without a discount as they were on the pricy side. Lovely atmosphere and not too noisy.

5.5/10food is just average, the ham had a moldy taste, the tortilla was no better than what i can buy at tesco. no toilet available , charge £1.50 and when I went i needed coins in order to use the toilet, vary inconvenient

Thanks for your feedback; we always strive to excel in serving tantalising tapas in our beautiful slice of Covent Garden, so we're sorry we missed the mark this time. We apologise that you had such a bad time with the bathrooms. Unfortunately we don't have the capability to install our own loos in our restaurant due to the historic nature of the building, and the Covent Garden market bathrooms are owned by a private enterprise who have their own policies in regards to their charge. We're also sorry you had a bad time with the food. Our Jamon Iberico de Bellota is freshly sliced for every order, is well looked after by our competent chefs and is much loved by the vast majority of our guests, but we know like most things it's not for everyone! The tortilla has been made from scratch from the traditional Spanish recipe of eggs, potato, onion and a pinch of salt, so there's not much more room to change things up least we lose authenticity - we do have the option for some tangy hot sauce to add! - The Team

9.5/10The food, service and general atmosphere were all wonderful. However, (and I know it can't be helped by the restaurant) having to pay £1.50 to use a public toilet when eating and drinking at premium prices did leave a sour taste and I'm not sure that I would have booked if I had known beforehand. Otherwise, I couldn't fault the restaurant nor staff, top quality!

What can you not love about being in the centre of Covent Garden, whether it is catching up with a friend or being on a date, tapas is the kinda best food. The portions is small but between the two of us we have five sharing dish and we felt really full. Smell of the food is divine and it all was good. Service was amazing. I cannot fault anything. But, toilets are only available to customers if you pay. £1.50 per entry.

7.5/10The restaurant has no toilets. We were told that if we needed a toilet we should use the one outside which has a charge of £1.50. Unfortunately, the card machine was not working and if you didn’t have cash, you couldn’t use the toilet!

5.5/10Loved the atmosphere and location of the restaurant. Food that we had was really nice but they were out of three main dishes which was quite a problem as it’s a fairly limited menu for a tapas restaurant. Also no toilet on site so if you wish to go you have to pay a £1.

9.5/10I gave a 4 star for the ambiance only because of the small tables. It can't be helped because it is a small place. Everything else was great. Having the professional opera singer performing right outside the venue was an amazing bonus!

9.5/10We ate at Tapas Stories on a Tuesday before the theatre and had a great tapas meal. The restaurant is small and it felt like that - chairs and tables are close together, actually quite cramped - but the staff were really attentive and made sure we were looked after. The food is excellent. We had the sharing board of meats and cheese (singular) plus croquettes and then desert. It was perfect for our pre-theatre meal but beware that this is really a wine-bar and so they do not serve coffee (yes I don’t follow the logic either). Price wise, this was really reasonable for Covent Garden. We paid less than 70 for the meal so, with gratuity, the cost was mid-70. We also had entertainment in the shape of opera singers and theatre musicians outside the door. All in all, very worth a visit.

6/10This place has the right ingredients to be great. The food is quite authentic and well presented. But the wine list is extortionate and we ordered the cheapest Cava - £40!!!!! We asked for a second bottle and they didn’t have a chilled one so suggested an alternative Cava which would have been £60!!! Ridiculous price so we declined. At the end they had not put the 30 percent Fork food discount on the bill and when we pointed it out they said it was food only (we knew) and they would have to prepare separate bills for food and drink to get the discount. We have never had this problem before and Fork discounts are usually automatically applied. Not very impressed…

Dear Melanie, I believe in comparison to alot of places around us, our wine list is quite affordable. I do apologise that we did not have another Cava readily available however, due to the busy period and lack of space, this does happen on occasion. TheFork discounts are usually applied by restaurants themselves, some work with tills that align with the fork system so these are added automatically, unfortunately our system requires input manually which means we have to split the bill. Dear Rita, We are very sorry that this was your experience with us. In regards to the seating, we are working with a very small indoor space so during our busier days we do advise tables of 2 that wish to sit on a 4, like yourself, that we would be more than happy to accommodate but as it is our busiest day we may need the table at a later time to accommodate other bookings and customers. We find that customers are usually quite understanding of this as many restaurants on the lower floor are small and have to do this to maintain space. This in no way changes your value as a customer, tables are also allocated via the fork automatically based on group size which means only one table was allocated to you as a table of 2. We also use one of the best Spanish suppliers in London which does unfortunately come with a higher price. We hope to see you again for a better experience! In regards to the portion, tapas is usually smaller portions to share however some of our dishes are bigger quantities. The staff would be more than happy to help you tailor your experience to be perfect for you in terms of dishes. We do try to keep prices as low as possible, however we do use one of the best Spanish suppliers in London which does come with higher prices as in tapas quality is pivotal.
