Delicious food, lovely service with helpful staff to recommend dishes. Very attentive despite being very busy. Really lovely place. The only thing I would say is the door kept being opened for.deliveries and customer s and was slow to close. It gave an icy blast .continously.

We booked in advance but were very put off by staff in the street badgering passers by to try the restaurant- we almost cancelled and went elsewhere, however we were warmly welcomed to an almost empty, brightly lit, comfortable restaurant with traditional Indian style decor. Wanting to try a few dishes, I opted for the fish platter. The Bengal fish curry was divine - I couldn’t fault it. A small deep fried sea bass fillet with fried onions was crispy and the batter good. The prawn curry was made with the tiniest frozen prawns which had no flavour whatsoever and were chewy - very disappointing. It was served with plain rice which was ok but lacking in any flavour. My husband had the meat platter which he said was nice. The fried chicken was very good. Overall the food was quite good but certainly not excellent. I suppose being in Brick Lane, I had higher expectations but left a bit disappointed. Service was good, as you would expect.

Found the whole experience disappointing after reading so many great reviews. Tandoori king prawns were so bland and so was everything else we ordered sadly. Not a place we would return to but maybe we ordered badly. Who knows?

Excellent food, very attentive service. This is the place to go on Brick Lane. Second visit and it didn't disappoint. Order a fish and prawn dish which were delicious. Service was spot on. Food came out quickly. I've eaten all vegan vegetarian the last time and that was also delicious. Check out the Okra side dish - Yummy.

Good service, we were a little late for our booking, part of our party arrived on time. Was a little disappointed with one of our dishes as it was under seasoned, but the chicken was moist and not dry. The rest of the meat dishes were really good. The vegetables were really fresh and still crisp not over cooked, so all the vegetarian dishes were nicely flavoured. Would definitely go again.

Nice place, happy friendly staff, my curry was different to what I normally have so must have been a different area of Indian style so I'm not too critical, I would visit again, just have something different, the waiter said to let him know what I would like

Very welcoming and exceptionally clean restaurant. Waiters attentive and patient and very professional. We had the Bengali fish curry and jalfrezi tofu with chana masala, aloo gobi and a plain naan. Fantastic service and a gem of a restaurant in Brick Lane. The food was absolutely delicious and our server went the extra mile to present the birthday celebrant with a sweet treat for the occasion which was a kind and lovely touch to end the meal. Great value for money too. This is the second time I’ve visited and it’s now my fave Indian restaurant in London. Will be back soon!

Have visited here on 2 occasions and was impressed with the service and food and ambience of the place. But my visit for the 3rd time although the service was good and the restaurant was only 1/4 full it was all ok ,but sadly the food wasn't as good uninspiring lamb bhuna meat very tough and low on flavour ,wife had a chicken dish which just had no flavour whatsoever ,it was all a bit of a disappointment food wise might have been we were just unlucky and chose the wrong dishes but just put us off going again

The food was awful! The pappadoms were cooked in stale oil, and everything, especially the chicken karahi tasted of too much turmeric. The dhal was flavourless and the biryani was dull and disappointing. I saw the ‘cook’ basically empty a huge bucket of yellow rice which was the base for our biryanis. The lamb chops were ok, and were possibly the only redeeming feature.

Really great food, not just a stand Brick Lane curry but some real thought in flavour and presentation. Awwal was great, helpful and not overbearing. I've brought my family here and my colleagues from my office. It all works.
