7.5/10It is a really cozy place to have a high tea! However, the service was not close to my expectations. We still had a lovely afternoon and if you take the sparkling afternoon tea for 2, then I would say it is a good deal, but the quality of the service could be improved by a lot.

7/10Lovely hotel and afternoon tea, although the service was non existent. Each time we waited for 20 mins or more and had to literally stand up and wave to get someone’s attention. We won’t return.

3.5/10I think a cloth on the table would be more appropriate. More like a cafe feel. Maybe that's what is meant, but thinking afternoon tea would be a little different. Drinks came up too soon, no room for them on the table. Maybe a top up of tea would have been nice. Perhaps as I had an Australian visitor with me I just wanted a bit more traditional afternoon tea As described above.

7.5/1030% off for Afternoon Tea week was a definite bonus although 12.5% service charge ate this up. Asked about extra food and wanted £5 charge! We did have to find the waiter to ask for more tea. Would have preferred more attention. I had mentioned it was my friends birthday but they didn’t do anything although other tables were given a cake. Not a bad location and light bright area. Curtains could do with renewal. Kind of average overall but considering the general price of other venues ok.

8/10Overall the afternoon tea was good. Having been on quite a few afternoon teas in London this one was not at the top of our list. Sandwiches and cakes were nice. The scones were very small and need to be much bigger. Two pots of tea were ordered, one for me, and one for my daughter, but no one came and asked if we would like a refill. Although we could have asked we feel this should be offered. This also applied to the sandwiches. We did get this afternoon tea with a discount, but was charged 12.5% gratuity on the full price, not the discount amount. Not all of the afternoon teas we have attended have offered extra tea or sandwiches but those that have we would return to and feel this is a generous gesture.

Really lovely experience overall, the service was top notch and the seating area was beautifully decorated. The food was nice and filling but the egg sandwich had no flavour; I didn’t have the ham but my sister said it was very good and salmon was great. The scones were a bit too dense and so were the sponge cakes, but they were good overall. I loved the macaroons and the chocolate tart. From 4 of us I was the only one to try the tart, the rest did not like chocolate orange flavour combo. My sister ordered the afternoon tea mixer and it was delicious. She also went with cappuccino rather than tea and was less than impressed, it was very milky and had no foam. She is lactose intolerant so asked for oat milk, I’m unsure if the barista is used to using it. The rest of us all had different teas, I didn’t ask for the brand but mine lacked flavour (it was Earl Grayish). The rest said their’s was ok. If you are going there soon choose a stronger tasting tea e.g. English Breakfast.

I came to have afternoon tea with my friend as a treat for her bday. I informed the staff when booking and in addition to the attentive service and the lovely cakes & sandwiches in a relaxed atmosphere, they brought a slice of birthday cake for my friend to wish her. Really nice touch! I would recommend The Clermont for afternoon tea without hesitation.

6.5/10The ambience here is really good here and we were met with a warm welcome. Where this place needs improvement, is the quality of the food. The sandwiches were stale and lacked a proper filling. The scones were small and cold. The cakes section was quite delightful. I found the service to be ok, and slightly hurried towards the end, as if they were annoyed that we were still there. Would I go there again, probably not as the overall experience ok, but not wow!

10/10Everything about this experience was amazing. The staff, location and food were all way above average. The dining room was beautiful with great views. Everyone was very professional and attentive. Last but not least, the food and drink were superb. I highly recommend afternoon tea at The Clermont.

8/10Really nice, traditional Afternoon Tea and the English Breakfast tea was plentiful with a good taste. The sandwiches were a bit boring, but I suppose that's traditional. The scones were bite sized with lovely jam and clotted cream. The pastries/cakes were just right, not big, and they were varied. The venue is really convenient and the setting felt right - Afternoon Tea in a nice hotel in central London. Ideal for a tourist treat, though we are Londoners ourselves.

We are new Londoners who wanted to experience an English afternoon tea with a friend. We selected the Clermont because it looked like a beautiful setting at a reasonable price, and we were not disappointed. The hotel itself is GORGEOUS and the dining room felt very luxurious. The food was delicious (and there was a perfect amount too - we did not leave hungry), lovely pot of tea and glass of bubbles, friendly service and a beautiful sunny view out the window. We would absolutely recommend the afternoon tea here to others.

We booked the Coronation afternoon tea deal at £65 for two. It started off well with a friendly greeting and us being able to choose our table and then our drink and tea orders were taken. The afternoon tea and drinks arrived promptly and then that was the last service we had for the rest of our time there. No check back, no offer of purchasing more drinks, no offer of more tea, table not cleared half an hour after we finished. After we had attracted a server’s attention to get the bill we asked for the service charge to be removed. The server agreed with no problem but didn’t ask if everything had been ok. When I explained the reasons why, she agreed they were valid reasons but no apology was offered. Such a shame that the experience was let down by the service, as the afternoon tea was exquisite with the exception of the scones which were small and hard. Maybe they were just having an off day or maybe staff need better training but it wasn’t very busy and afternoon teas are easy to serve as everybody is having the same thing. Would recommend for the afternoon tea but improvement needed to service.

10/10We attended an afternoon tea for a Hen do. The atmosphere was lovely in the restaurant and the afternoon tea is straightforward and tasty (no frills). The cost is very reasonable for London and the waiting staff were attentive without being intrusive. The cocktails were delicious!

10/10Very lovely tea time. All the food was delicious. Service was attentive and very beautiful decor. I would just recommend a switch to classical music versus the rock music. Doesn’t fit the vibe.

No frill, pretty average afternoon tea to be honest . However reasonably priced but you get what you paid for really . Sandwiches were fresh but simple ham, egg salmon, cucumber, scones very small , very sweet and crumbly not fresh and pastry average , very small bite , not very inspiring but quality /price is fine . Room beautifully decorated and crockery very pretty. Staff friendly.

10/10Hosted an afternoon tea hen for my sister here and had around 12 guests. The booking process was very straightforward and I was very pleased they would accept a larger group of people for afternoon tea. When we arrived the venue was clean and lovely, and we were served straight away. They accommodated people’s dietary preferences and were very quick to serve us. The staff also took photos for us which was nice. The food was lovely, sandwiches were fresh, and scones and cakes were very tasty. We could not finish all the food and even ended up taking some home. Each person had a teapot so they had lots of tea to drink which was very popular with the group! We stayed longer than our original time slot, and were not hurried to leave by the staff. This gave our experience a relaxed feel and gave us time to chat and enjoy the food. The price per head for the afternoon is very reasonable and good value for money. Overall I would recommend this afternoon tea and would go again!

8/10Restaurant chosen and booking made via it based on price announced for afternoon tea on https://afternoontea.co.uk/uk/london/ When in the restaurant, the price seemed however more than 16% higher. After complaint about the bill, the restaurant accepted to charge for the price seen during the booking.

5/10The bread used for the sandwiches was very crusty , and the tea very week and tasteless. Staff did change both, but sandwiches only slightly better, and tea just as weak and tasteless. Will not go there again.

9.5/10Afternoon Tea for 5. Service and food was very good. It wasn't too busy thankfully so the did let us stay and sit and chat which was very good. My only negative is that they didn't clear the table when we had finished. Apart from that it was extremely pleasant experience. Beautiful decor
