This was a great restaurant and highly recommended. I was dismayed to find my TheFork booking was not in their system. Thankfully they were able to accommodate me but would have been a real disappointment if they could not have.

Very disappointing steak. We ordered the 60-day-aged Porterhouse. It was cooked medium rare as we asked but in a proper New York steakhouse it wouldn’t even qualify as a Porterhouse. It wasn’t thick enough, it was served lukewarm, almost cold, and with barely any filet. And it didn’t taste like it was aged more than usual. Basically we think that we were scammed on the steak. Service was very slow and inattentive. We got water at the beginning and no refills. The tacos and sides were fine but nothing memorable. It’s a cool place with a nice vibe but the food is not worth going back.

I saw the Shoreditch branch on MasterChef and thought it looked amazing. I booked at the Soho branch as we were going to the Palladium just around the corner. When we arrived in the lobby we noticed all the huge cuts of meat in the fridges, some may find this off putting but it was very tastefully done and we found it very interesting. Our table was booked for 5pm so it was relatively quiet, however I still feel we would've had a great time with all the hustle and bustle going on if we had a later booking. We were seated at the grill bar. This was great as we could see all the food prep, the cooking and the serving. We were given little tasters of the rump steak whilst we were browsing the menu. We chose the burnt ends taco, rump steak, bourbon and pepper sauce, potatoes and garlic raclette and a house salad. Before ordering my steak I was torn between the steak and the prawns and as I could see the food being prepared I saw the prawns being cooked and had to add these to my order. The food was AMAZING! Everything has so much flavour and it was cooked to perfection. I never order a rump steak, always fillet as I like to avoid the fat. There was the smallest bit of fat on the edge so I was pleasantly surprised. The tacos were small however they were so flavoursome and the taco breads were fantastic. The salad was dressed beautifully and the raclette potatoes were lovely and garlicky with a generous amount of raclette. The best part was the prawns. They were big, juicy and the chilli, coriander and butter that they were served in was extremely tasty and a generous portion for the price. The prawns were served with little breads also so you could mop up all the buttery goodness that was plentiful in the bowl. I see reviews about Temper being pricey and small portions with a noisy atmosphere but this restaurant seems to me, a place for sharing small and medium sized dishes whilst having drinks with friends. There are corners and booths that would be a little quieter. I'm sure when booking a table, if a quieter space is needed this could be arranged. My partner was raised a vegetarian and struggles with beef, I ordered the steak rare and he absolutely loved it, he would never normally eat this. The head chef was preparing and cooking the food right in front of us. He was very pleasant and made the whole experience very interactive. Overall the food was incredible and we will definitely be visiting again.

Dishes had decent flavour. But portions were small. Drinks were all ice with a dash of chosen soft drink. All in all, temper was all style and no substance.

Excellent meal at Temper Soho! The steaks were perfect and the staff was super friendly and accommodating . They even gave us complimentary drinks as the food took a bit longer than we expected. Highly recommended!

It didn’t quite live up to the hype. The cocktails weren’t anything special. The Sunday Roasts were big portions and tasted alright, but are quite pricey - especially the sharing platter. The service was good, but not overly friendly.

Delicious food and cocktails. Great service. Not too pricey. Quite meat heavy so wouldn’t recommend for veggies but would definitely recommend for meat lovers

It was okay but for the name it has, it should of been better. We all rated it a 7/10 and it should of been a 9/10.

I had always wanted to try the restaurant so decided to go after the theatre. I was in a party of 4 . The staff on reception were friendly and led us to a booth and thought we were off to a good start. It took a while before we were offered drinks so when we were asked we ordered our food at the same time. The waitress came back and apologised saying unfortunately they only had 1 x 600g ribeye left!! (it was 5:30pm) So we ordered 1 x 500g & 1 x 600g Ribeye. Then a manager appeared was again apologising saying none of the 4 starters we ordered were available (something to do with suppliers) so we ordered tacos instead. When the food was served it was a good portion & tasty. After our meal we were offered the desert menu but decided against it and ordered 3 x coffee and 1 x peppermint tea only for the waitress to return to say “unfortunately” the coffee machine was broken & they had no “hot” water for the peppermint tea! I fully appreciate the time of the year, but IMO our problems could have been easily avoided if the waitresses had informed us when ordering what was or wasn’t available! (Restaurantting 101)
