3.5/10Restaurant closed; had to eat in the bar. Bar was pandemonium due to use by a corporate event.

Really sorry for the miscommunication as you should of been still offered the restaurant but explained to that it's very quiet for such a large restaurant and you might prefer the atmosphere in the bar area but the choice being yours. Apologies if this wasn't explained

8.5/10The food was fantastic and the service was great. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself didn’t have a great atmosphere and it became really cold by 9pm so we decided to leave soon after desert. The bar was also too cold to sit in.

8.5/10This restaurant was very nice and the food was very good. The service was a little slow to be honest but I think perhaps they were under staffed. However the restaurant wasn't full. The empty glasses were never removed from our table so we ended up with about 20 empty glasses on the table. There was also no gluten free desert option which was very disappointing - I did specify in advance that one of the guests had celiac disease, please put at least one gluten free desert option on the menu - deserts are quite easy to make gluten free. A few more gluten free versions of the starters and mains would also be good - e.g. starters that come with bread could be served with GF bread or crackers.

10/10The staff were attentive and the food was excellent. Nice big table. Good choice of food. the black pudding scotch egg was so delicious. I really enjoyed the chicken too. but to full for dessert.

9/10Steak done to perfection. Good choice. Cheerful, helpful staff. Choice of table. Wine range good and very reasonably priced. Had long wait for starters but both were good. Menu offered wide choice and each dish had good proportions.

5/10The lady who greeted us was lovely, but the waiter not so much. Dumped our Salads without asking whether we wanted anything else, the salmon nicoisce was dreadful, advertised as a Cajun fillet of salmon, but what I received was tinned salmon or mushed salmon, don’t really know how to describe it. Also the waiter seemed to think that on ordering a salad, that I should be aware that ‘it is a salad’ YES THANK YOU! I know what a niscoise salad is! Just rude. It tasted ok to be fair if I was dining in a town centre cafe and had paid £8, but absolutely no way was it worth £17.50. Such a shame that this restaurant spoils what is otherwise a beautiful hotel

6.5/10Most of the food was good. Steak was over cooked and burger dry. All the food & drink is over priced. £18 for a chicken salad is far too much. Good portion sizes.

6/10My partner had the spinach, walnut and pear pizza which se said was quite bland. The base was doughy and not really present. The burger I had was full of flavour and tasty. We asked the server for a glass of Pinot, to a reply of uhhh like he didn’t know what it was. Overall an ok experience

4/10Really disappointed with the whole experience at Tempus. Shown to table and had already been told there may be a delay as the kitchen had stated they were inundated with orders!! We were eventually given menus to make our choice. We had quite a lengthy wait for our starters which were mediocre and barely warm as served on stone cold plates. We then had an even lengthier wait for our main courses. Again barely warm on stone cold plates. Chicken was tough and steak didn't seem to be very good quality. We decided to forego desserts.

5.5/10We were informed there would be a additional 10 minute wait for food. However waited for 1 hour for main to arrive. Asked the waiter who never came back to us. Most staff appeared uninformed and uninterested. There was no atmosphere and tables were cleared for breakfast whilst we ate desert which felt unprofessional. The food was of a good standard but nothing special for the price

6.5/10If you are looking for a pub food quality experience, then this is for you! On the hotel's reputation, reviews, and room price, we expected that the restaurant in the hotel would be first class like those found in convention centres. Our disappointment included the undercooked pasta, baked from frozen fries, and at breakfast hash brown triangles (from frozen). The house salad was chopped romaine, tomato, cucumber in a small bowl as one would make at home. Service was excellent, a young staff working hard to do their best. Dining room appears to double as a banquet hall, a large open space without decoration, basic square tables and quality leather chairs. No one expects Michelin stars, but there could be proper chips and tasty mains.

4/10We stayed for one night Arrived at restaurant ordered wine the lady brought the wine in a cool bucket and put on the table and walked away. We opened the wine and poured our own . Food came we ordered pizza it almost ended up on my knee as I tried to cut it with a knife provided that was so blunt in the end used my fingers. Finished food lady removed plates walked passed us several times never got asked if we wanted a desert and we did .after 15 mins asked for the bill and left . Hotel was gorgeous had a great stay restaurant staff polite but obviously not trained in correct service . My husband and I have worked in the catering and food service industry for many years basic Customer service was not applied

5/10The service was slow both for drinks and food, we waited an hour for the main course The food was well presented when it came . We were never asked if we wanted dessert so we settled the bill and left The room was very large and very few people in so there was no atmosphere

5/10We originally we booked into the Tempus restaurant but there was a very noisy group in there so we moved to the bar. The food was ok, nothing too fancy but that's ok. However for the price I think it was mediocre. We had the gammon and the chicken burger with upgraded fried, a pint of peroni, a coke and a like and soda and it came to over £45 which seemed a lot for what we had.

3/10Avoid if possible. I saw 3 meals that had to return to the kitchen. And there were only about 10 tables occopied. I ordered hummus and pita and they gave a cut up wrap as the pita, without an apology or excuse. Humus came straight from a supermarket. My husband ordered spare ribs as a starter and they were below average. The lamb ravine my husband ordered was bland and I. Ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. There all sorts of random bits in my salad like 3 pieces of green beans, a few leaves of rocket. I think the chef does not care about cross contamination in the kitchen. Also the chicken was not grilled, just a cooked chicken (I suspect from the supermarket again). The best part of the meal was the bottle of water I ordered. For £75, go somewhere else if you can. You can also skip staying at the hotel. Very outdated rooms, wobbly mattresses, not worth the money.

So sorry you did not enjoy your meal at our restaurant and if you had informed myself on the evening I would off certainly rectified it but you did make us aware during check back or when paying. I have informed the chef and we will investigate as to why you were served flat bread instead of pitta and your other concerns but I can assure you a hotel does not purchase food from a supermarket and all our food is freshly sourced Kind regards

7/10Sadly there was a conference on so we didn't eat in the restaurant but we're moved to the bar. The food and service were good but it wasn't quite the special atmosphere we were hoping for.
