Very good
The worst Thai food I have ever had .The lamb shank was tough as nails .Food not hot and the soup was so sweet it was like a dessert and inedible and cool. Has the chef ever been to Thailand and tasted the wonderful food there . Very poor and would not recommend.
Lovely high quality meal in beautiful building..... The service was excellent The food was a good quality and served efficiently . We had a small cake for a party members birthday that they brought out at the appropriate time...well done
We have been going to Thai Square for some time. The food is always fantastic, the service good and friendly and the atmosphere very good. We love it.
This is my favourite restaurant in St Albans, I cannot recommend it enough! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is perfect and the staff very attentive! Definitely will come back!
Great looking restaurant in a historic building in the heart of St Albans old town, great food, attentive service. A service charge was automatically added to the bill so look out for that.
I think it was an excellent dining experience and I would recommend to all !
Friendly service but slow welcome on entry for the second time. Great food - delicious and fresh. Good choice of menu options. Not cheap but worth it and still doing teh £10 discount.
Great food and service although atmosphere and decor was more preferable downstairs and we were seated upstairs unfortunately. Regardless, I would definitely recommend
It's a lovely restaurant set out very nicely inside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is was amazing. The perfect eating experience.
We were hoping to be wowed, and it was just a bit ordinary. Nothing wrong, just "okay" rather than "delighted". Won't rush back - expensive for what it is.
The staff was very welcoming and the service was great food arrived really quickly. Menu was off phones after scanning QR code on table, all staff were wearing masks. Food was amazing! I would recommend this place!
I wouldn't normally post on this meal out, but due to covid I am. The covid procedures are great and they have extended the Eat Out to Help Out deal during September, so the downstairs was almost full. I eat here often, (but know non of the staff), and it is my second favourite St Alban's building. On arrival, sanitiser, standard. But, quite unexpected, temperature check (the food we had was spicy hot, so not sure what our tempreture would have been on the way out). All staff fully PPE'd, masks/visor and gloves. When seated a credit card sized card, glued to the table, to scan to see the menu. Huge building, wonderful social distancing! Food good, as usual. Only gripe, my stater arrived before my wine, and I can't eat on an empty stomach. So, the starter was not as hot when I started it. Next time I'll order the drinks, then order the food on their arrival. #supportlocal #useitorloseit
Food was very tasty but the portions were quite small. Really enjoyed the food we ordered. You would need to order a starter as well as a main meal to feel satisfied.
The set menu was quite expensive. With a glass of wine and a diet coke and after the dine in the bill was over £60.00. A bit expensive for a lunch meal. The menu was on line which is good but not useful for people who don't have a smart phone or who are unable to use the latest technology
Nice restaurant, attentive, friendly staff. The only disappointment was the authenticity of the dishes. Whilst the food was really good, particularly the seafood and duck there was a scarcity of the herbs and spices which sets it apart, and for which Thai food is famous. We weren't aware of the presence of any basil, galangal or, kaffir lime, though there were minimal traces of lemongrass and corriander. Apart from the fact that the dishes were slightly hotter, the meal could very well have been Cantonese.
Thai Square, St Albans is our regular Thai - we think it’s the best one in town...food is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are very friendly. ????????
Fantastic food , temp check on way in and app on table for menu to assist with Covid compliance. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices for quality of food.
It was not the restaurant it was the times we are in
We used to look forward to going to Thai square but the latest visit was disappointing. There is not the same care about the food as in the past - bones in the duck with pancakes and the sizzling steak was limp and looked like a cheap cut rather than sirloin. We will not be returning unfortunately
I’ve been to Thai Square St Albans quite a few times & never had a bad meal. Sometimes service is slow. But last night they were spot on with everything. It was our first night out for dinner since mid Feb, so slightly nervous on what to expect but they made us feel welcome & safe, temperature check on arriving & tables distanced, staff wore PPE, service & food was excellent
