Last time excellent couldn't have enjoyed it more. This time however, service poor, except for the waiter who was excellent. Drinks brought separately i.e. couple at a time, plates etc. not removed before main course arrived. Main courses ok except the Meditteranean Mezza Flatbread was basically a pizza with tomato and cucumber. Main course not cleared before deserts delivered. I will put it down to a long busy day and it won't stop us visiting The ALBANY Thames Ditton again. BUT I am watching! lol

The Albany was short staffed today but the team worked really well and apologetic. We weren’t in a rush so more than happy to just sit and chat. Faye looked after us really well as in our group was a dairy intolerant lady. I missed out on the Parmesan for my pasta and we missed out on 3 free starters or desserts but in view of the stress, we decided not to trouble the staff. They did really well and we thoroughly enjoyed the 3 hours for lunch !! Thank you !

Stunning riverside location for a sunny summer evening dinner. Sitting right beside the river eating good food is the perfect end to a working week

Lovely evening, big shout out to Jade and Emily who were fabulous, they were friendly and attentive and looked after our table very well indeed. The food was ok, medium rare steak was over cooked which was a shame and it would have been nice if all the cobwebs were removed from the umbrellas, as we had spiders dropping on us towards the end of the evening. Minor thing, but attention to detail really makes a difference.

Lovely location, pleasant staff. First course Luke warm and a tiny piece of lemon served for the squid which was hard work to squeeze as it was so small. Main had the nourish bowl which was bland, too many long ribbons of carrots, no dressing, lacking in variety, boring, falafels very nice. Fish had a funny twang to it. Desert blueberry cake rubbery, nice icecream. 2 deserts not available from the limited menu. Mac and cheese hot but tasted bland. The food didn’t have a home made feel or good flavours this is the second visit and it was the same low quality food. Such a shame as the ambiance and location is great. Staff could have sold more drinks but we had to ask for service and couldn’t be bothered after a while. Wheatsheaf in esher or the black swan in Ockham food fair better. I think we won’t go again foods not up to today’s standards

We had a lovely meal. The food was good and beautifully presented. Our waitress, Emily, was attentive, very amenable and good fun. She gave us helpful recommendations about the menu. The restaurant felt very spacious and had a nice atmosphere.

Lovely meal with friends post Flower Show. Arrived by boat, friendly welcome, great service, good food, and so relaxing to watch the river & the various boaters.

Have eaten here many times over the years but was very disappointed today. The location as always is lovely but the food was very poor. Most of it was cold, the halloumi was barely cooked and the bread that came with my healthy salad bowl was literally rock hard and stale.

Fabulous food, served hit, ample portions, we really enjoyed our meals...I think we had to wait a bit too long after being seated for any service. I got up after about 25 mins to ask. It was a hot day & we were thirsty...I think as standard a bottle of water & glasses brought to the table along with the menus would be far better. Would still highly recommend.

Lovely location, lovely food, attentive waiters but so so slow. Had to wait 45 mins before we got a bottle of wine. Thankfully there was plenty of activity on the river to keep us occupied whilst we waited. Such a shame when we wanted to patronise a local venue after the lockdown. It wasn’t busy and there seemed to be sufficient staff so no idea why it was slow.

We had a great evening and the service was very attentive and main courses were all very good . The only thing was I did have to ask for ketchup 3 times before I got it. Cocktails were also very good.

Quality of the food at the Albany is high, I started with seared scallops & tempura cauliflower, they were perfectly cooked. Steaks followed that didn't disappoint, wine was also good. Pricing was what you would expect from a gastropub. Only issue I ever have with the Albany is the service, whilst sincere and well meaning the waitress's just don't know enough to be able to manage tables, any question is met with I'll just go and ask. The restaurant would really benefit from a Matre 'D.

Excellent service, Superb food, fantastic location. We loved it. This is the second year running we have made the trip to The Albany and we will be booking again next year. The Hampton Court Flower show is a short ferry ride across the river. Lunch at the Albany makes us feel as if we are on holiday and takes away the memory of all the traffic on our journey there. This is definitely the way to make a day trip perfect.
