The food was very average, I left most of my meal as it wasn’t worth eating. Stay for a drink, but skip the food!

Beautiful location, friendly staff but service slow, food average and the place looks tired.

Such a disappointment. I had been looking forward to going here as I went a couple of years ago and it was great. I told them we were celebrating a birthday - but we were seated on a dark table, had to chase our food for well over an hour, which was hit and miss when it arrived. Our waitress did her best but you can tell the management are not trained, have no idea how to give good customer service or how to manage a restaurant.

A bit disappointed bearing in mind this pub is renowned for serving amazing food. The lamb was tough and very fatty. I would have thought the chef would pick and use a better quality piece of lamb. Also, the food was cold when it arrived, however, the flavours were good.

Great location but disappointing visit. No greeting on arrival. At a restaurant you expect waiter service. This was like self service as you have to go up from lower deck to order food and drink. You have to return to the bar to order anything else .Didn't appreciate having to give credit card details and pay before eating. You need more staff. As a regular visit I hope for improvements.

Delicious Sunday Roast. Service once seated was extremely attentive. The booking system confused me though; I booked via thefork, then received a "confirmed" status email. The Albany emailed back to say a booking couldn't be made. I received another email saying the booking was confirmed once more, so went to the Albany at the scheduled time only to find the booking was not made after all. I managed to get a seat with friends in the end but going forward it would be good to improve how bookings are handled.

We were shown to our outside table but no-one told us that food and drink have to be ordered at the bar. We realised, after a long wait. The food (salads) took ages to arrive. The riverside atmosphere has been ruined by the smoked glass barrier - the view is opaque and the glass itself was very dirty.

We have dined on at least three occasions at The Albany at the time of the Hampton Court Flower Festival. We look forward to a drink and food afterwards every year! Always good food and service

We arrived early for our booking which was 12.30, no one was at the reception desk although there seamed be a team talk going on at the end of the bar, so we went straight to the bar. On ordering our drinks I explained that we had a table booked in the restaurant so he put our drinks on a tab. At 12.30 we want to the restaurant area and found a waitress and which table we were booked on she did not know so we waited for someone else to help. In the end we waited for about 5 minutes and then a waiter called Issac came to our rescue he found one of the 3 men not in uniform and we were eventually seated although not it turned out at our booked table. Again Issac came to take our order and looked after superbly, thank you Issac. We have been frequenting the Albany for a number of years and up until this last visit the service has been nothing but professional and well organised with great waiting staff. On this visit the 3 what appeared to be management seem to be totally preoccupied with setting up for a wedding lunch oblivious what was going on around them.

We have always been loyal customers of The Albany but were extremely disappointed in Our visit yesterday 21 April Service was non existent-long wait for meal and food ,and when it was served it was inedible. Had gone with friends who we had suggested the restaurant to -so very upsetting. The situation is beautiful but unfortunate the food and service do not match.

Nice setting, along side the river. Unfortunately the weather was too cool to sit outside. The friendly staff were very accommodating and reseated us inside. The restaurant is well decorated and is a step up from a standard pub.

Stunning riverside location for a sunny summer evening dinner. Sitting right beside the river eating good food is the perfect end to a working week

Lovely location, pleasant staff. First course Luke warm and a tiny piece of lemon served for the squid which was hard work to squeeze as it was so small. Main had the nourish bowl which was bland, too many long ribbons of carrots, no dressing, lacking in variety, boring, falafels very nice. Fish had a funny twang to it. Desert blueberry cake rubbery, nice icecream. 2 deserts not available from the limited menu. Mac and cheese hot but tasted bland. The food didn’t have a home made feel or good flavours this is the second visit and it was the same low quality food. Such a shame as the ambiance and location is great. Staff could have sold more drinks but we had to ask for service and couldn’t be bothered after a while. Wheatsheaf in esher or the black swan in Ockham food fair better. I think we won’t go again foods not up to today’s standards

Lovely meal with friends post Flower Show. Arrived by boat, friendly welcome, great service, good food, and so relaxing to watch the river & the various boaters.

Have eaten here many times over the years but was very disappointed today. The location as always is lovely but the food was very poor. Most of it was cold, the halloumi was barely cooked and the bread that came with my healthy salad bowl was literally rock hard and stale.

Excellent service, Superb food, fantastic location. We loved it. This is the second year running we have made the trip to The Albany and we will be booking again next year. The Hampton Court Flower show is a short ferry ride across the river. Lunch at the Albany makes us feel as if we are on holiday and takes away the memory of all the traffic on our journey there. This is definitely the way to make a day trip perfect.
