Lovely evening at The Priory Bath Hotel! Warmly welcomed on arrival, drinks in the wonderful drawing room. Seated at a table with a great view of the garden. Excellent food served by attentive and friendly staff. Superb!!
Great experience, calm and helpful staff encourage a sense of being welcomed back to a place you belong to,a home you don't remember but feel comfortable in: all the food is appropriate, perfectly cooked and served.
Well this is a nouvelle cuisine restaurant; the emphasis is on making the plate in front of you "pretty". Heaven forbid if I had asked for some potatoes, perhaps sautéed or some vegetables. It seems restaurants can only turn out some basics. Bring back real food.
Delicious tasting menu, both vegetarian and pescatarian also available, beautifully cooked and presented. The venison dish was fabulous, melted in the mouth. Surroundings impeccable and interesting, with fascinating huge oil paintings on the walls. Wished we could have booked early enough to stay the night in the hotel. As a wedding anniversary venue, perfect. Staff helpful and attentive without being overbearing.
Excellent service and very good food - pleasant ambience in restaurant and very relaxed
Beautiful old country house hotel in quiet location not far from Bath city. Loved the Drawing room with some great paintings and lovely furniture- hope to see the fire burning next time as getting cold enough now . Food was superb ( Sunday lunch ) with some little added starter extras and main course was lovely - nice not to see those huge Yorkshire puddings that every place seems to add with Beef . Had coffee outside on the terrace after , as the sun shone through briefly & also had a stroll around the large gardens which are lovely . Staff were so pleasant and polite and I liked the way each waiter announced what we would be eating as the food was served . Definitely a place to return too ??
Great and unusual dishes with an eye for detail. Friendly but efficient service and a beautiful hotel with fabulous gardens. Not cheap but a fantastic treat.
The whole of Bath Priory and it’s such a treat to visit for afternoon tea or lunch
Drinks on a beautiful terrace. We were given a quiet table with lots of space around it - as requested. The menu was excellent - particularly happy with seasonal dishes - such as the grouse - being on the menu. The souffles were light and full of flavour. My only minor criticism would be that I would have liked to select cheeses from a cheese board rather than having them selected for me. Excellent presentation of all the dishes - refined but not pointlessly fussy.
Wonderful relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff and marvellous food.
We came to the Bath Priory for our 10th wedding anniverary, this was by far the best dining experience we have ever had. The service throughout was exactly as you expect for a resturant of this standard. The food and drink were the best we have ever eaten/drank. Will definetly be coming back. Neil & Kate Radnedge
Amazing food, amazing staff. We were fortunate to be waited on by the Sommelier, not only was his wine knowledge impressive, but his grasp of the menu excelled too. They were stretched a little by a large party of 28 in the private room, but the quality of their exceptional food was not at all compromised. I often visit The Bath Priory (both as an overnight guest and just a diner and have yet to be disappointed in any regard.
Food was divine, service impeccable, I can’t recommend enough. Exceeded all my expectations.
What a shame! We had been the priory before some years back and were really looking forward to coming back. However the service was so slow, the food underwhelming and I simply wouldn't go back. The pairing wine with the meal was nice, however as our pudding took over half an hour to appear we had finished. We asked for more and were charged for it. It is the first time I have been to a posh restaurant for my birthday and not had it acknowledged in some way. I really wouldn't recommend it.
Wonderful Sunday lunch.
Excellent food, ambience, service. Will be back and definitely recommend
My daughter and I enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Bath Priory last Sunday. There was a little confusion over my wine order, perhaps because I wasn't paying sufficient attention, but the sommelier gave us a more expensive bottle of Pinot Noir than I had ordered. i didn't notice the error until I came to pay the bill, but the head waiter kindly adjusted my bill accordingly. I believe the blame rests with me and not the sommelier.
The food was very delicious. I took my partner for our anniversary and she was blown away by it. My only complaint was the waiters could’ve been abit more tentative. We had a bottle of wine with our meal and had to keep asking for our glasses to be topped up. I have been to a few restaurants like this and they always top the glasses up when they start to get low.
Delicious food. Excellent sommelier. Good staff without pretension.
Wonderful meal. Both of us are gluten and dairy free. Chef managed to accommodate us with a 7 course taster menu. Wine pairings were excellent and entire evening was perfect.
