Food was good and the staff tried hard. Going out for meals has become less enjoyable with the new Covid rules and there was definitely an air of tension. Our table was directly under a speaker and even though we love music, it was too loud to chat comfortably. It was also rather cold.

We ordered drinks on the sun terrace (5*) whilst we looked at the wine list & menu. Surprised to get a call from the Beehive asking why we were late for our table!! We skipped starters and went straight for the Sunday Lunch (2 of beef, chicken or pork). The roast food came - but the meat was tepid at best. Vegetables arrived - followed slowly by requested mustard etc - followed by gravy... Too many snags to make it a good trip - and too expensive for the overall experience. Sorry - but not a good dining experience!

Following the change of management we thought we would give the Beehive another chance and thank goodness we did. We had 2 fantastic dishes, the best food we've had for a while! I had lamb rump, which was tender and flavoursome. My partner had ribeye steak - which included sauce and side dishes and I was advised was very tasty. The staff were attentive and Jess the manager seems to have her finger on the pulse and remarkably knows what is happening throughout front of house - very impressive! We will definitely be back and would recommend to others.

We thought that the Sunday lunch was very good, well cooked and presented. However our starters were very disappointing and not good value. However the staff managed the situation very well and were excellent throughout.

3 of us came for Sunday lunch. Loved the decor and the ambience. We all enjoyed our starters. The mains were mixed - I had the mushroom wellington - it was too heavy on the pastry with not enough filling. The others had chicken and pork roast and the chicken and beef roast. Both the chicken and beef were excellent - however they were only given 1 slice of pork between the 2 of them - and it seemed to be the end of the joint - not particularly good at all. The service was really slow. Our order wasn't initially sent through to the kitchen so we didn't receive our starters til nearly 2pm (the table was booked for 12:45). We were offered an apology while we were waiting but perhaps some bread ? The waiting staff were generally disorganised - they didn't know which wines were by the glass, they didn't know what the soup of the day was , they tried to give us someone elses order (particularly frustrating when everyone else was getting their orders and we had to wait over an hour for ours). Overall disappointing which is such a shame as the location, ambience and food show so much promise

The food was excellent but we were disappointed that 2 main course dishes on the menu were not avaliable and also one dessert . The service was friendly but a bit disorganised and we had to ask twice for a drinks order and for the bill.

Great Sunday lunch, if a little pricey. I've been before and the way you're looked after doesn't match the quality of the food and surroundings.

Very welcoming with a good atmosphere. the new decor is excellent. All the dishes were very good, but it would have been better if there was a second vegetarian option. One of our group was vegetarian, and enjoyed the mushroom stroganoff, but would have liked a choice.

Overall I felt disappointed. Dirty glass on the table and the beer was cloudy, both times it was poured. However these issues were resolved when raised. Despite the food being tasty, the meat and potatoes were cold - not even warm- when they got to the table. Not great for the price being asked and the single set meal being served as a Sunday dinner. Also there was no child’s portion offered so I paid full price for a seven year old to have an adult portion, resulting in a lot of food waste

Nice setting, very average food, ok service from staff, poor service in being able to deliver their menu with 4 dishes not available

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal last night. Bread and olives whilst we quaffed a generous glass of Tattinger. Why not? My partner had the seafood starter whilst I chose a rustic chorizo and butternut squash dish. Then paired our mains, beef cheek and sirloin steak for moi with a hearty Pinot Noir. Excellent value. We just had enough room to share a delightful cheese board with a couple of glasses of port. £130 including tip is very good value in my book. We will be back. Later today!

Great food at a great price. Nice atmosphere, if not a little quiet.

It’s our 5th time here for Sunday lunch and absolutely incredible as always. It was also my wife’s birthday and we got a complementary glass off fizz on arrival which was a lovely gesture. Staff are always happy, friendly and on hand to explain the menu. Nothing is too much trouble. Without doubt the best Sunday lunches I’ve ever had. Already looking forward to going again soon. Keep up the great work. Very highly recommended.

The Beehive is contemporary but very homely and cozy. A fantastic welcome thru the door, easy to find nice seats and feel at home. Very reasonable price for a nice glass of white. The flavours of the food were amazing! The gravy with the pork cheek was gorgeous, and I had mushroom stroganoff which was equally rich in flavour. Everything I hoped! Great evening out.

Superb, it was our first visit and we were not let down, service was excellent the food was scrumptious... And cracking value for money. Our daughter who is 11, enjoyed her beehive burger, and the beef melted in the mouth...

Food was tasty but disappointed with the service. Quite a long wait in between courses. The staff really don’t seem to enjoy working there and there was little interaction other than the necessary questions. No smiles etc. After all the intial hype we were expecting something special and left very underwhelmed. On leaving the bar staff were friendly and chatty... shame we didn’t see that for our table service.
