9/10The concept (shared dining) is very nice with high quality dishes. You can tell that they really made the effort to impress! Personnel was very attentive (although very busy) and made good recommendations. I highly recommend this establishment👏

9.5/10The many interesting and delicious shareable options were great for our group of five. Everything we ordered was excellent. Our server made helpful suggestions in terms of number of dishes which provided ample food but not too much. Service was very prompt which was appropriate given we were going to the Tattoo although we all agreed we would have liked a little more space between dishes to be able to really savor them.

10/10We came to the Black Grape with our party of eight on our first night in Edinburgh, visiting to support a family member running the Edinburgh marathon. We ordered every single item on the menu I believe, and doubled up on quite a few. This review would be way too long if I told you how much we enjoyed every single one of those items, but we did. Don’t pass anything up, it is the sauces and additions and oils that make each one of these lovely dishes sing.

10/10This little restaurant ticked all the boxes for us. The service was warm and welcoming, the ambience was nice and the food was fantastic to say the least. Each dish was unique, and we just couldn’t find even one dish that we would consider to be weak. Well done!

9.5/10Went on a quiet Monday night. Lovely welcoming atmosphere. Discrete & helpful service. The wine list is different & interesting + loved the varied dishes especially the tempura aubergines & the blue cheese croquettes. Would definitely go again to continue working through the menu

10/10I was looking for something special for an anniversary dinner. This was just perfect. On the royal mile it’s the perfect location 6 minute walk from the train station. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated and has a lovely ambiance. Service was excellent very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was amazing and just love the concept of small plates suited us perfect. A great selection of wines and cocktails. 100% recommend and will definitely return.

8.5/10The concept of this bar is small plates and I can confirm that the combinations are creative and food is absolutely delicious. For a wine bar, the selection of wines was rather less inspired. The service was patchy and struggled with attention to all their guests. If it wasn’t for the great food, we would be quite disappointed with oue visit.
