10/10We Ave been here 3 times now visiting family in Brentwood. The food is always a good standard and today it was delicious. Service was excellent too.

6/10I went for dinner at The Black Horse on Friday 25th August. There were three of us in the party. We only had main courses and desserts. I had sirloin steak, which was very chewy with a lot of fat. My girlfriend had a haloumi salad, which should have had various grains, but had barely a sprinkle; basically haloumi with leaves. The desserts were good however, and the service was excellent. It's a nice pub restaurant, but they should be able to get the basics right, which spoiled the evening.

8/10Jackie was lovely, friendly and welcoming. The food was nice and came to the table hot, which is always a good thing. Would definitely recommend.

10/10Our waitress Cian was exceptional and couldn't be more helpful she made the whole lunch perfect, the food was terrific and I would thoroughly recommend and more importantly I will be going back for more

10/10It was a really enjoyable meal. Good food and great service and a reasonable price as well. The pub has a really great atmosphere which seems to be very popular as it's always quite busy. Twice we've been at lunchtime.

9.5/10Food very good. Waitress very helpful and attentive. Prices extremely reasonable. Value for money. Added bonus, received 10% discount for N.H.S. staff. Very good access for the disabled, but no parking spaces for disabled. Will deffinately visit again

10/10We booked this restaurant with Fork not expecting to get a table however we were Lucky as it was last minute. The problem was that this website Fork didn’t let the restaurant know we were coming so consequently there was no table for us. Due to the Black Horses fantastic staff they did their best and moved tables and juggled us about to get us in. Not fair on them so if you book it’s best to go directly with them to save disappointment. We were lucky this time as it is so good there and very comfortably busy.

10/10The Black Horse served us a delicious meal. Our waitress Charlotte was excellent. She was very welcoming and let us have time to choose our courses. She was very obliging helpful and cheerful which made us feel very welcome. We would certainly consider coming back. We couldn't fault our experience at all.

10/10The Black Horse is just around the corner from a relative we were visiting, who said they had been there before and said it was good. We were not disappointed. We visited at 1pm for lunch. inside there were oak beams everywhere giving that olde worlde look and quite spacious. A good selection of lunchtime meals. We all chose the chicken pie which was big and tasty with chips which were big and fluffy. We didn't have starters or dessert, just as well as the mains are big. It was quite busy this lunch time which shows how popular this place is. The staff were also pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend it.

9/10Black Horse is a welcoming venue with warm atmosphere. We booked for Sunday roast, the meat, & Yorkshire's excellent, however veggies a little tired and dry hard parsnips. It was a mid afternoon booking probably fresher nearer lunchtime.

6/10Nothing wrong with the place, or the service. Just so disappointed, that the Sea Bass was off the menu again! We have eaten there many times, and will go again, but I'll phone first before going to check if the Sea Bass has been landed .

10/10Nina providing excellent service and our party of 4 opted for Christmas menu. King prawns and scallops were delicious and the turkey pie is the best pie I have ever eaten . Crème broulie was yummy.
