The Black Lamb is always a treat, but on Sundays, it's exceptional. Try the Sunday roast, you will not be disappointed.

What a delight. Quiet, attentive service. Fabulous food. We will be back and not just on Sundays. My only, personal, niggle was that I adore crispy-crispy roast potatoes and so, although the presentation of my meal was splendid, my potatoes were already a tad soft instead of super crunchy. Pretty please, could there be an option for separate gravy for picky-picky customers like moi. That meal was head and shoulders above other Sunday roast offerings. Well done, team Black Lamb xxx

Roasted pork with a crispy exterior, served in rich gravy, accompanied by roasted carrots, creamy greens, fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and a vibrant herb sauce.

Really delicious roast dinner and lovely selection of wines. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were very attentive.

the menu was different to that on the fork. we asked for the shared silroin but they had run out (at 8pm on a Saturday). they forgot our water and got one of order wrong. on the bright side food was lovely.

We went for the taster menu which was expensive and felt the whole experience was very rushed with little interaction. we only knew what we were eating by referring back to the menu. with it being a special occasion we were left a little disappointed with how much we spent

Nice venue and pretty good Sunday roast with good ingredients and flavour, but gravy was way too watery and the portion of Cauliflower for the veggie roast was small.

Roasted chicken and pork with crispy skin, served with sautéed greens and roasted potatoes, drizzled with a smooth sauce.

We always enjoy a Sunday roast at The Black Lamb. We all had the Sunday roast pork, the meat was tender and the skin was crispy.

Even though it was early, we were assigned a table squeezed between two other occupied tables but were allowed to sit at a different table in the window (but right next to the door) after asking. Why squeeze people together onto tables that are too close to each other when the restaurant is half empty? Wine is expensive, the lowest price red option had sold out for that reason presumably and then two courses of the set menu had arrived before our wine arrived. The food was good except the steak which was chewy - we had the 6 course set menu which is good quality but expensive for the portion sizes.

went for a pre Xmas lunch with a friend , using some previously earned Yums, and had a very enjoyable time , good service and our mains of Grouse and Rare roast pork off the a la carte were very good and sticky pudding for dessert finished it nicely.

Braised pork served on a bed of dark leafy greens with a rich sauce and diced vegetables.
Tender medium-rare duck breast with a savory sauce, served on a bed of shredded red cabbage and surrounded by dark leafy greens.
Savory golden-brown pastry topped with a slice of pickle and a dollop of mustard.
Crispy fried chicken pieces served with a rich dark berry sauce and garnished with microgreens for a fresh touch.

Excellent service from start to finish, even having the restaurant briefly run me through the ever changing (in a great way) menu prior to our visit. Dad’s here visiting, so thought I’d treat him to this. We had the mushroom eclair, a classic and staple, the partridge popcorn chicken which was cooked well, pork chop, venison and the signature crispy roast potatoes. Been here multiple times, and they always hit the spot 👌🏽

Staff are friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. The food is divine; something for my friend who is not vegetarian and something for myself which was, so we both had an enjoyable time. The goat's cheese starter and date pudding are also worth going back for.

Juicy pork chop with a golden-brown sear, served with tender Brussels sprouts, seasonal diced vegetables, shallots, and a rich sauce.
Crispy fried plantains with a golden-brown exterior, offering a variety of textures and a light coating of oil.
Savory puff pastry filled with creamy sauce, topped with a green pickle, and accompanied by a smooth cream spread garnished with red fruit preserve.

Everyone was very attentive and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was also lovely. Michele in particular was great. He spotted the fact that my friend and I were Italian and was fantastic.

very crowded and busy which added to the vibe as there was a queue out. as we are redeeming out yum points , FoH Manager picked that up quickly. had problem with one of our oysters which just had the skirt but was quickly replaced. Ridiculously delicious English rose at great hafl carafe value. the marmite mushroom elcairs are nice but really small for £3.50, we talking micro eclairs. needs to be at least 4 times the size now.. the mains of Venison was excellent, had a slight panic forget to tell them we want it medium rare but it came out as uch, phew! Good value all round, especially their week days Beef Wellington menu and farm to plate etc. will come back to try those.

This was my third visit to this place but first one on my own in the evening. I was a bit nervous, a Single lady on a busy Friday evening! I was given a warm welcome, was seated right in the middle of a busy room instead of a "quiet" little corner! Very attentive staff. efficient service. Excellent food and drinks were divine. overall, I had a great evening in a warm n inclusive restaurant.

We didn’t leave a tip as our initial waitress was uninterested & unhelpful. We had to find a table to move to ourselves (the waitress did nothing to help) when we were seated underneath the very cold air conditioning (so bad that my hair was blowing about & our candle kept going out!). We then virtually had our food thrown at us by the waitress. Our later waiter when we moved was fine. Our starters were very good but the main was overpriced (& overcooked in my case) & served with almost no sauce or garnish. A disappointing visit to what is usually a nice restaurant.

Have visited the Black Lamb a few times and have never been dissappointed with the food, service or ambience. It is not cheap but its worth the money as the food is so interesting. We had the Wimbledon set menu and everything was so tasty. Would highly reccommend.

I have been to many restaurants but this time i had booked a table for 2pm, when I was on my way my bus got terminated which got me late to reach on time. The manager called me at around 2.30 pm to confirm if I was coming or not, I told him I would be more 20 mins late. I reached at 3 Pm (one hour late, but fork app reserves the table for 1 hour 30 min to the best of my knowledge.) The moment I reached there, there was no table with customers, whole restaurant was empty. I found out the staff( I think he was the manager) was not at all welcoming. He said I was one hour late and now he’s afraid if they will be able to serve me or not cause he wanted to close the kitchen (even though table reservations for lunch were available till 5pm I guess). I legit had to request him, that consider my order as last orders for the kitchen. Then later he got me in and gave a table for me. Food menu was confusing, can make it more organised. Food was very average. Ambiance is very good, no doubt.

We have eaten here before so we had good expectations. Unfortunately they were not met. We were served one incorrect starter (credited - but only after we complained). Risotto was somewhat waterlogged, rather than creamy. Otherwise food was good. Ambience was spoiled by a noisy party on adjacent table, who insisted on making phone calls, which all could hear.

I had been there before and my previous experience was better. This time we waited very long for the food, all the glasses of wine I ordered were too acidic as the bottle had been open for too long, the food was ok but nothing special: scallops were so small that I could barely taste them and the hare was too cooked. Waiters would interrupt us every few minutes. We paid over £80 each with a discount included. That’s a lot for only a small starter, a main and only two glasses of wine in total, considering the food was ok and we waited for over 30’ for the main. Finally the room was so warm that we were sweating. For that price I expected more.

When we arrived we received a warm welcome. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered our meal and shortly afterwards were told that one of the starters was unavailable. The starters arrived and were very good sized portions and well presented. I had the sirloin for my main, unfortunately it was very tough around the outside, the middle bit was okay. The waiter tried to tell me this was normal with a sirloin which I found extremely condescending, I'm 56 years old and have eaten many sirloin steaks in my life, he reduced the price by £4!! We had an enjoyable evening, the food was pleasant but not amazing and probably overpriced. The 13.5% service charge was a shock!!

Lovely restaurant, hidden gem 15 mins walk from Wimbledon Station. The quality of the food is amazing, with produce being as fresh as you can get and perfectly cooked meats may they be cooked for a long time or just flame grilled and slow roasted in the oven. We started with sourdough bread and salted wild garlic butter, and some crunchy caraway flatbeead with crumbled chorizo and fresh yoghurt. As antipasti we had a really well cooked pork cheek with barley risotto and a pan fried camembert with candied grapes and a nutty crumble. Mains were a really peculiar lamb roulade with cannelini beans and anchovy jus. Pretty spectacular combination - I would never had thought about that! My partner had pork loin with rhubarb and pak choi, and it was simply fantastic. I would not suggest the desserts, far too sweet for me. Quite expensive, but hey - It's Wimbledon innit.

What a wonderful restaurant! The Black Lamb is a really lovely place to dine, such a nice atmosphere and beautifully decorated too. Loved the wallpaper going down the stairs and in the toilets! The food was really superb, I had the Sunday roast beef and it was beautiful. My daughter had the chicken and she loved it too. The service was so good, the staff are so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again!

We had a girlie dinner and had never eaten here before, the food and drinks were great all round, some staff were so friendly and relaxed, while a smaller percentage were a ruder/harried. They had paper napkins which I didn't like, I would expect cloth napkins. However I would recommend and I would re-visit.
