My sisters and I went for a Christmas meet up and a meal. The food took a while to come out but it seemed they were serving all tables at the same time. That was fine. I had the Xmas turkey lunch. It was absolutely lovely really generous portions but not that hot. It was so generous that I was glad I chose the Xmas pud as a very small portion compared to my sisters apple pie. I could not put my spoon through it and I realised it hadn’t been microwaved at all. I told the waitress who was apologetic and replaced it. On the whole we did enjoy it and would return .

Great restaurant, staff very attentive and lovely surroundings. However, my wife had the sea bass which was a disappointing in that the portion was very small for the money. Basically a plate of mass potato and broccoli.

VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH MY DINER 21POUNDS FOR 3 SMALL TASTELESS LAMB BITS AND THE COTTAGE PIE THAT WAS NEARLY ALL MASHED POTATOE. THE FOOD AND WINE IS MUCH BETTER IN HARVESTER AND WETHERSPOONS. MY WIVES FISH AND CHIP WAS JUST AS INFERIOR TO OTHER PLACES

Living locally this is a place we have to go to and it’s very hit and miss sometimes you can have the most Great food great service et cetera and other times especially when busy it can be a bit below par. This visit was okay but no great thrills. Also the portion sizes seem to have got a little bit smaller where the prices seem to have increased.

My friend and I enjoyed a nice lunch meal this week (27th Oct)seated by the window with a nice view The service was excellent and the food quality good but I felt the portions on the fish cake option were too small for the price charged ( 1x fish cake and 2 pieces of asparagus not good value for money!)My friend however had fish and chips and her portion was twice as big as mine and of good quality We enjoyed the ambience of the pub

We have been to the Brassmill several times before and had been very pleased with it, but our latest visit was very disappointing. Even though we arrived early in the evening (7.00 pm), at least two items on the menu were not available - my grandson was very disappointed, as they were what he wanted. They did not have what my daughter wanted to drink, so she had to have something else. My wife chose a salad, but did not want the pineapple and ginger dressing, so asked for an alternative - she was told that nothing else was available, which we did not believe: surely any kitchen has oil and vinegar available and could have made a French Dressing - sheer laziness!
