The only issue i had was the quality of the food (Steaks), this is the second time this has happened over the last 6 months. the manager and staff were very helpful and they offered us another steak and a full refund but that's not the point. Its a great place to stay and i will go back again, but they need sort out there supplier of Steaks ASAP. I got the feeling i was not the only one that had been complaining.

On arrival the bar service was extremely poor, we waited at least 20 minutes for an order to be taken for 7 drinks ... The service in the resturant was terrible, long delays in serving our food chasing the staff was frustrating one steak meal came without the sauce... What should have been a memorable occasion for our 50th wedding anniversary left us very deflated, spending almost £400 we shouldn't have left feeling extremely dissapointed 😢

We arrived slightly early, as is customary and waited by the door, speaking to a member of staff. A lady marched over and we were informed in a brusque tone that the restaurant didn't open for another 6 minutes and we needed to leave! We would still give 5 stars for service, as our waiter, Oliver was so professional, welcoming and knowledgeable. The food was excellent and well-priced.

I booked the Calverly Grill for my dad’s 84th birthday. I told the hotel concierge about the special occasion, On arrival in the restaurant we were showed through to an annexe to the side of the restaurant, This area seemed to be reserved for noisy groups. One hen party was already there and two more quickly arrived after. I asked the waitress to move into the main restaurant, which was greeted with a look of disdain. I was told it would take 10 to 15 minutes to prepare, even though there were clearly multiple empty tables in the main restaurant. After five minutes, we were given a nice table in the main restaurant, which would have been a much more sensible place to put us given the occasion we were celebrating! However, the same waitress spent the whole evening looking rather annoyed at the inconvenience we had created for her. From a food standpoint, the meal was good. My ribeye steak was tender but thinner than I would normally expect. a peppercorn sauce was tasty and thick cut chips nice and crispy. £34 is a full-on price. I’m not a fan of the piped, rather loud music they use in the restaurant.

Service from Ruby was excellent - very attentive and polite! Food was average and service was quick. Lots of options on the menu. We arrived 5-10 minutes early and were turned away and asked to come back at the exact time we booked.

Eaten here before and it was a lovely meal just as expected. Good choice of food. Stayed at Oulton Hall overnight for a Spa break and ate in the Calvery Grill. Very attentive staff. The food was excellent. Couldn’t ask for better.

I booked lunch at the restraunt and the booking was acepted, however when I arrived the restraunt was shut, only to be told it only opens in the evenings, this was about 3 months ago. I booked last night to make sure iut was open, no atmoshpher, we were given menues to order food, the waighter the started to take pur order then told us we had the wrong menues, he did the same to everyone in the restraunt, he came back 10 minuites later with the correct menues, after another 10 minutes he came and took our orders, onlt to find that when my partyners meal arrived it was not what she ordered, at this point we were 35 minutes in and we had to be away by 8 30, so she said dont say anything otherwise we would not get our food before we had to leave.

Steaks and lamb were very poor. Could not cut most of my rib eye. They did discount 50% so that was £16 for chips and onion rings! Won’t eat again in there.

Lovely restaurant Cant recommend it enough Beautiful furnishings, stunning room. Food was gorgeous (especially the squid starter) But what made it even more special was the fantastic service and waiters!! Especially Oliver! Please make sure he sees this review he is a credit to your staff/team, what a lovely waiter!

My boyfriend ordered sirloin steak and was virtually inedible - Was full of gristle. The meal was not worth the money we paid for it. The seating area where we were sitting were very dusty. Overall was a very disappointing experience.

The hotel is a facade of a bygone era. The original building excels at keeping up appearances with its restored decor and plush furnishings, but this is where the illusion ends. While the service is generally polite, the staff are very young and suffer from the wrong kind of indifference. For vegetarians the food is so lacking it forced us on our previous visit to go to the local harvester.
