6/10The only issue i had was the quality of the food (Steaks), this is the second time this has happened over the last 6 months. the manager and staff were very helpful and they offered us another steak and a full refund but that's not the point. Its a great place to stay and i will go back again, but they need sort out there supplier of Steaks ASAP. I got the feeling i was not the only one that had been complaining.

10/10Our waiter Oliver was excetional, he made our evening, he ensured my daughter's dairy intolerance was catered for thoughout the whole evening.

5/10On arrival the bar service was extremely poor, we waited at least 20 minutes for an order to be taken for 7 drinks ... The service in the resturant was terrible, long delays in serving our food chasing the staff was frustrating one steak meal came without the sauce... What should have been a memorable occasion for our 50th wedding anniversary left us very deflated, spending almost £400 we shouldn't have left feeling extremely dissapointed 😢

10/10We arrived slightly early, as is customary and waited by the door, speaking to a member of staff. A lady marched over and we were informed in a brusque tone that the restaurant didn't open for another 6 minutes and we needed to leave! We would still give 5 stars for service, as our waiter, Oliver was so professional, welcoming and knowledgeable. The food was excellent and well-priced.

6/10I booked the Calverly Grill for my dad’s 84th birthday. I told the hotel concierge about the special occasion, On arrival in the restaurant we were showed through to an annexe to the side of the restaurant, This area seemed to be reserved for noisy groups. One hen party was already there and two more quickly arrived after. I asked the waitress to move into the main restaurant, which was greeted with a look of disdain. I was told it would take 10 to 15 minutes to prepare, even though there were clearly multiple empty tables in the main restaurant. After five minutes, we were given a nice table in the main restaurant, which would have been a much more sensible place to put us given the occasion we were celebrating! However, the same waitress spent the whole evening looking rather annoyed at the inconvenience we had created for her. From a food standpoint, the meal was good. My ribeye steak was tender but thinner than I would normally expect. a peppercorn sauce was tasty and thick cut chips nice and crispy. £34 is a full-on price. I’m not a fan of the piped, rather loud music they use in the restaurant.

7/10Service from Ruby was excellent - very attentive and polite! Food was average and service was quick. Lots of options on the menu. We arrived 5-10 minutes early and were turned away and asked to come back at the exact time we booked.

10/10Eaten here before and it was a lovely meal just as expected. Good choice of food. Stayed at Oulton Hall overnight for a Spa break and ate in the Calvery Grill. Very attentive staff. The food was excellent. Couldn’t ask for better.

5/10I booked lunch at the restraunt and the booking was acepted, however when I arrived the restraunt was shut, only to be told it only opens in the evenings, this was about 3 months ago. I booked last night to make sure iut was open, no atmoshpher, we were given menues to order food, the waighter the started to take pur order then told us we had the wrong menues, he did the same to everyone in the restraunt, he came back 10 minuites later with the correct menues, after another 10 minutes he came and took our orders, onlt to find that when my partyners meal arrived it was not what she ordered, at this point we were 35 minutes in and we had to be away by 8 30, so she said dont say anything otherwise we would not get our food before we had to leave.

5/10Steaks and lamb were very poor. Could not cut most of my rib eye. They did discount 50% so that was £16 for chips and onion rings! Won’t eat again in there.

10/10Lovely restaurant Cant recommend it enough Beautiful furnishings, stunning room. Food was gorgeous (especially the squid starter) But what made it even more special was the fantastic service and waiters!! Especially Oliver! Please make sure he sees this review he is a credit to your staff/team, what a lovely waiter!

4/10My boyfriend ordered sirloin steak and was virtually inedible - Was full of gristle. The meal was not worth the money we paid for it. The seating area where we were sitting were very dusty. Overall was a very disappointing experience.

7/10The hotel is a facade of a bygone era. The original building excels at keeping up appearances with its restored decor and plush furnishings, but this is where the illusion ends. While the service is generally polite, the staff are very young and suffer from the wrong kind of indifference. For vegetarians the food is so lacking it forced us on our previous visit to go to the local harvester.

10/10Fantastic food. The quality was obvious and tasted great. We were a party of three and all had squid started and all agreed it was delicious. We had steak,, sea bass and belly pork mains and everyone enjoyed them.

10/10What a really pleasant experience. The food on offer, and then delivered, was excellent and the staff were very attentive especially the manager/maitre de. We will be booking again. Thank you for making our wedding anniversary super special.

Great place to go for a special occasion hense we visit or stay 5/6 times a year. The food is amazing followed up with consistently great service by all staff. Always recommend this place and we will continue to come on a regular basis.

9.5/10We were seated at a lovely table for the 6 of us with loads of room and didn’t feel cramped at all which is refreshing these days. The food was lovely and the service was impeccable. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and Oliver was brilliant and made our dining experience so much more enjoyable.

9/10Thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience, only bug bare for me was at the dinner cream tea they didn’t explain what to do just brought the cream and jam and coffee didn’t explain the scone will be coming shortly just walked off so was walking around looking where to find them, a bit more communication needed from the waitress had to ask a few was it coming waited ages , total opposite for breakfast waitress was fabulous and explained what to do and the diff areas for food.

4/10A totally different experience to our meal the previous evening. Poor seating with a view of the door and computer- that is a table that should never be used! Seated but not offered a wine list, had to go and request one after we had been seated for 10 minutes and still not offered one. Gristly and tough steak (not good enough for £60+). Sides dishes not served but left on the bill. One small salad for two people, the same as that served per person with meals half the cost. Your Sommelier was excellent. The rest was very ordinary and the shame is we know the food and service and seating can be much better. It was on the Friday evening.

7.5/10Lovely food and welcoming polite staff. They were clearly very busy so we do understand . But it did take 2.5 hours to get 3 courses, and we have to ask 3 times to order more drinks and ask twice to see the dessert menus. But they were very polite and did apologise about the delay :)

6/10The food was very good however the service was dreadful. On asking to sit on a proper table we were seated behind a pillar out of view of staff and restaurant. We then had to wait 40 minutes for our main course after the starter presumably as we could not be seen , did have to attract attention in the end to get food.

5/10Slow service throughout. Ordered water for a diner but none came for 30 minutes until we reminded. Thick cut chips appeared to be deep fried frozen chips rather home made. 25 minutes between finishing starter to mains arriving. Teas and coffees took 20 minutes with another reminder. Appeared to be plenty of staff so possibly the kitchen were very busy. Will revert to a restaurant in Leeds next time.

6.5/10My wife ordered the fake shrimp pasta dish. Despite being told that the meal was vegan and that there was no shrimp we still expected it to have pasta in it. The description needs changing in the menu as it is very misleading. Unfortunately this soured the experience slightly as we then had to purchase another meal from yourselves. My steak however was fantastic.

4.5/10We had been looking forward to the restaurant but waited almost an hour between ordering and receiving our food. No staff came to check on us or apologise and I had to flag down staff to try and get the bill. Very disappointing anniversary meal indeed

4.5/10We ordered sea bass and risotto and had to send it back. We were so disappointed having eaten sea bass and risotto here before when it was beautiful. Fish skin was not crispy or even bordering on crispy and the risotto was just mush. We are so sorry to give this rating as we do not like to send food back or give poor ratings but you have asked so we can only be honest.
