5.5/10Celebrating 60 years together and a birthday so no intention of making a fuss in front of grandsons. My steak lunch was cold, chips cold and soggy and steak had gristle throughout. So disappointed for a meal that was meant to be special. Other three meals fine. Have returned after a few years away but no intentions coming back

9/10Very good choice of meals and excellently cooked. Disappointed that no-one asked how our meals were after being served or when the table was cleared. They were fine but it's courtesy for waiting staff to check and this would have earned them an extra star. Great place for those with a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Plenty of parking with 3 dedicated spaces opposite the path to the entrance.

10/10We love this restaurant have been coming g here for 40 years. The food was excellent ,we asked for a quiet table and that didn't disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, well worth a visit.

10/10This place exceeded our expectations. We went as a family of 6 for a delayed Father's Day meal and were expecting fairly routine pub fayre. Pleasantly surprised to find excellent quality food, for all 3 courses, coupled with excellent, very friendly service. Would definitely recommend and we will certainly be returning in future.

8/10Very friendly welcome. Helpful with explaining some of the dishes. Attention, but not overly. All meals were tasty, and nicely cooked. Would definitely go back.

9.5/10Excellent attentive service. Didn’t have long at all to wait for the food. Portion size is just right, not too much and all of us really enjoyed the food. This Captain will be sure to be taking his wife to “The Captains Wife” again.

10/10Unfortunately, although everything was perfect, wonderful meal and fantastic service, the Captain’s Wife do not accept yum yums . Apparently, they cannot understand why the Fork keeps on advertising them!

9/10Most of our meals were good however the hunters chicken was weird and was dry, I have to say though the lady that served our table was fantastic (can’t remember her name unfortunately), there were 6 of us altogether with 2 6 year olds and she did everything to look after us, would definitely visit again.
