5/10We had to wait a long time for our drinks, then even longer for our food (the people who arrived after us were served earlier) The starters were lovely but the main course arrived before we had finished! The sea bass was lovely but the lamb rump was dreadful (cold & dried out) served with a few dried out carrots, hard potatoes and extremely salty gravy; the Yorkshire pudding was ok. I was hugely disappointed.

4/10One of the meals ordered was cold with dried up chips. The service was very slow - our sweets took ages to arrive. The restaurant was cold and very noisy. I had asked for a quiet location due to my severe hearing problems. I eat in the Chequers quite often, but this was very disappointing.

5/10Three of us had the roast turkey. We each had 2 slices of turkey 4 or 5 very very small roast potatoes. We didnt all have the same number one of mine was very very overcooked, two small pieces of broccoli about 5 slices of mushy overcooked carrot ( wasn't sure it was carrot initially) 1 cocktail pig in blanket. I don't think if I recall correctly any other veg. If there was any then it was just as minute and a yorkshire pudding. I complained to the waitress who was very apologetic. I said the waitress that for the money charged which is just over 16.00 then the portion size is not sufficient. She brought us out another 4 small roast potatoes. These were freshly cooked and a small pot of extra veg within included fresh roast parsnips ( not on the plate originally) and carrots that looked like carrots and broccoli. We were also given a cauliflower cheese as an extra. We haven't eaten at the Chequers for a long time because in the past a long time agoi hasn't been great but thought we would give it a try. Very disappointed. I am not someone who normally complains but I felt I had no choice on this occasion . Ashley our waitress was lovely and I think very embarrassed and probably agreed with what I was saying. We did leave her a tip. It wasn't her fault. The manager didn't bother to come over and speak to us. the other meal ordered was not a roast and looked freshly cooked and was enjoyed by the the person eating it.

9/10I've been here several times and the food has always been great. The staff are always friendly though sometimes it takes a while to be served as they are so busy. But worth the wait.

8/10Nice pub good real ales. I had lamb rump and shepherds pie. The lamb was rather over cooked. Service was a little slow. Otherwise it was ok with reasonable prices.

7/10I had an upset stomach in the evening and overnight following lunch at The Chequers. However other members of the party had the same food without any problems. Following lunch we attended a funeral at the crematorium. The reception afterwards could also have be the cause. On balance I do not hold The Chequers responsible. We enjoyed our meal after you agreed to move us to a different table away from a very noisy table. That was appreciated. Service was slow but adequate for the time we had allowed.

7/10Nice friendly service and amosphere Had the festive menu. Prawn and mango cocktai( all lettuce, 4 prawns and 3 tiny bits of mango, stale bread. Turkey roast, meat was nice, potatoes hothead too long, very overcooked and dry

10/10Recently returned to the Chequers where you are welcomed by friendly staff. The food is amazing especially the house burger and would recommend saving space for dessert!

8/10Staff were very accommodating as we required specific seating. Food was lovely and served quickly but not as hot as I would have liked. All in all we really enjoyed the meal
