5.5/10Had the worst meal I have ever had at The Cliff. The starter was goats cheese with beetroot and croutons which were just stale bread. The goats cheese was melted like a sauce. My main was fish and chips and the batter on the fish was soft and not cooked enough. My friend had gammon , eggs and chips and the eggs were hard and overcooked so we sent them back. The waitress did not ask if everything was alright with the starter until we had almost finished.

10/10Excellent in every way. Very efficient and friendly service, with great and plentiful food. Mezze sharer was generous, varied and very flavoursome.

4/10When we arrived they did not have our reservation despite confirmations from you. A rather unpleasant girl at the desk said “we shall try and find you a table somewhere” Poor service, poor food and the atmosphere was not good. The service desks in the restaurant were untidy and such a mess. Not a good experience

5/10For the second time we didn't get the table requested (12). I request this because I have hearing difficulties and it's reasonably quiet. We were seated next to a large table celebratimg something and the baby kept screaming. The lamb was ordered rare but was well done and the Chateaubriand was 2 pieces of fillet steak each.....not a whole fillet. We complained and something was knocked off the bill but it spoiled the evening as we were unable to converse.

6/10This was a birthday meal and very unexceptional alas, no better than I could do at home so why come to a restaurant? Fish (sea bass) seemed dry, veg okay but contained cherry tomatoes as pale as anything, clearly out of season in February so why bother at all? Left on plate.

9/10Food was very tasty, a good choice of dishes and all executed well. We had a pizza, burrata, nourish bowl and chicken sandwich, with "Billionaire fries" as an extra. The fries were a bit underwhelming, but everything else was excellent. For dessert, the pavlova was large (!), very tasty chocolate bomb with toffee sauce, and the sticky toffee pudding was suitably sticky :-). The only downside was the noisy drilling from outside; surely someone from the management should have arranged a better time than lunchtime to have the new shades in the garden...

I was really impressed with the look and feel of the Cliff. I like what they’d done in the recent refurb. Service was excellent - polite, friendly, helpful. We had a roast dinner which was a massive plateful and delicious.

10/10The food was amazing and service was great. All of the staff were really friendly, can’t fault any of our visit. The beer garden is big and nice to sit in when it’s sunny, staff were very helpful!

6/10We ordered pork belly with scallops. Taste was okay but the crackling and scallops were a bit salty. The curry was a bit bland and the rise was rather too dry. Desserts was good though.

8/10The venue was excellent lovely surroundings and a warm welcome on arrival the menu was good lots of choices staff were helpful and the service was good only letdown was between the main course and dessert there was a long wait. Hopefully we will be back again soon.

6/10Booked a table through Thefork.co.uk which was confirmed as accepted. It was cancelled a few hours later. Turns out restaurant is closed for refurbishment. The fork.co.uk let us down.

7/10Sunday lunch was reasonably good value at just under £18 per head. Food quality and presentation were good. The staff were friendly and tried hard but could benefit from more training. Avoid ordering sparkling water at £3 for 330 mls!
