Such a magical, elegant house to be welcomed into - firstly in the very cosy bar area with an unusual selection of local gins and every possible combination of Fever Tree tonics, then to the dining room which felt airy and intimate at the same time. The waiters couldn't have been more welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable and passionate - we loved our exchanges with them. The food - the reason for being there - was simply stunning. One of the best and most surprising meals we've had in a long time full of ingredients we normally wouldn't select so we had fun exploring one amazing delightful dish and taste sensation after another. Last night was the new chef's first 'outing' and we can genuinely say how 'wowed' we all were. Thank you !

Excellent restaurant, lovely and relaxed, unpretentious. Best dish by far was the guinea fowl, we will definitely be coming again. Little touches with starter snacks and homemade sweets were fantastic. A great birthday treat.

Lovely building, dining room perhaps a little ‘cold’ in design/atmosphere. Actually was a little cold by the front window at early lunch time sitting. Food wonderful, wine by the glass a little expensive. Staff very friendly and efficient. We experienced a long wait ahead of one course and apologies were offered and a top up of wine to compensate. We look forward to returning in the spring/summer to utilise what looks like a lovely garden. And see how the new chef has settled in. If anything like Fred’s food, it will become a regular destination for us. Well done to everyone and thank you for a fine experience.

The dining experience was great - well paced, delicious and beautifully presented food, with perfect attention to detail. All dishes were favourites. The staff were attentive but not overly so and came with a welcome sense of humour.

Pretty building, well spaced tables and pleasant staff. Ultimately you go to eat and the 7 course tasting menu we ordered was overpriced.

We had the most delicious lunch, every course was amazing. Each course offered us divine taste and textures. The staff are courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. Although I felt the restaurant was a little cool for me, we enjoyed a very relaxing lunch.

The best dining experience that we have had in a long time. There was nothing that could be faulted from the staff to the food to the ambience. Excellent.

A birthday celebration for my wife meant another lunch at the Clock House. It was very quiet on this particular visit so we felt like we got extra special service. Our welcome was warm, our free glass of fizz was REALLY good and our 7 course ( 8 actually) tasting menu for two was exquisite. Every course was beautifully presented, absolutely delicious to eat and served with a precise explanation each time by the charming Renato !! Thank you. My wife was a very happy lady.

Dining at the Clock House is always an enjoyable experience. The service is unstuffy and informative and the food, as you would expect, is surprising, engaging and delicious. You won't get any change from £100 p.h. for dinner, which is worth it for a special occasion, but the lunch and the wine list are both good value for a restaurant of this calibre.

Fabulous 7 course menu - very tasty and presented with real style and class. An expensive experience, but one which will linger in the mind for years to come!

Greatly enjoyed this lunch at The Clockhouse restaurant. Spacious, tasteful interior made for a nice calming atmosphere. Staff were welcoming and waiter service was impeccable - knowledgeable and attentive but not overbearing. Gluten-free was easily accommodated. We (two) chose the well thought-out 7 course tasting menu at £90 pp and were not disappointed. Though small in size, most dishes were a complex work of art both to behold and to taste, and the flavours of each one complemented those of the dishes before and after. We enjoyed everything and found it hard to pick the standout dish of the day: the smoked eel just shaded it from the pork belly and the short rib. Considering the quality on offer, and the addition of a pair of amuse-bouche and petit fours, I consider this menu to be good value and the cooking to be on a par with 2-starred L'Enclume.

Nice cozy bar, good service. Lovely wine. But everything else really poor. We had 5-course tasting menu - lacked flavour in some and then overpowered in others (especially the eel - it left our palette really smoky and actually didn’t enjoy it at all). The shin of beef was delicious, but the monkfish really average. And the dessert was completely unmemorable. Ordered cheese as we were still hungry too. Service very attentive & chatty, but verging on the side of annoying as we were interrupted at every point possible. The ambience was also lacklustre - half empty and could hear everyone’s conversations. So disappointed. It’s expensive and expected much, much better from a Michelin restaurant.
