6.5/10Very nice staff but service is a bit slow and my food wasn’t very hot. The food is normally really good so hopefully just a one off.

8.5/10The service today was not very efficient , having to wait for a dessert menu and having to remind staff that we were waiting for coffee!!

8/10Lovely food, nice staff, service not great, seem very short staffed, we waited quite a while for our lunch. Shame as the staff are doing their best. We took our time with lunch, nobody rushed us out, very relaxed.

9.5/10I often used the Fox as a staging post between Essex and Hampshire. Now I live in Cambridgeshire, it was a perfect stop on the way to Heathrow! We were a party of four; the atmosphere is still as lovely ; the food exceptional; the service warm and attentive. Each member of my family party enjoyed it greatly, sending my street cred soaring for my knowledge of good places to dine! It is a lovely place which I am greatly pleased to know!

4/10We ordered the Sunday roast beef. It came to the table very luke warm and we sent it back. It still came back warmish! We ordered dessert which took a long while to eventually arrive. Overall rather disappointing. I definitely will nor rush back in a hurry.

10/10Friendly welcome - got shown to our table immediately which was perfect - by the window.. Great service throughout and the food was amazing. Very pleased and will definitely regurn.

4.5/10have been here many times, the staff friendly and helpful, my 3 guests enjoyed their food, but i ordered a sirloin steak that was so tough i couldnt eat it so took it home for my spaniel and she wouldn't eat it either !

9/10The food was lovely and the staff were even lovelier! The only criticism I have is that the food was a bit cold. This said, I would happily return and try another meal in the future.

5/10Arriving we were greeted, and told where we can sit, fire was burning, very dog friendly as offered dog water bowls blankets and biscuits, ordered our food at the bar, starters came out , very disappointed to see grey raw prawns on our prawn cocktail these were replaced, and money taken off bill. Further foods were ok, chips were hard, we then sat for 4p mins with finished plates on table, I had to ask for them to be removed, we ordered puddings, and left, overall as was an early mother's day lunch, I was disappointed.

9.5/10The food was excellent and nice and hot, the steak was cooked just right and the other meals were very good. The staff made us feel welcome and kept checking that everything was to our satisfaction. Will definitely go again.

5.5/10Not as good an atmosphere as previous visits and not great menu… we wanted some sort or salad and and something and there was only the side salad which unfortunately was weak

7/10Nice ambiance and lovely staff who try very hard to please. Sea bass could have had crispy skin rather than soft wilted looking fillets but tasted very nice with the mash, just not sure it’s all freshly cooked. My friend enjoyed the roast beef, the cauliflower cheese looked reheated but tasted good.

6/10We live very local and have eaten here many times over the years. Unfortunately it is still very hit or miss. Tonight there were 4 if us eating, 2 mwals were ok and 2 were inedible, mainly too cold and I mean cold, and the pizza was just not cooked. Simple things that just should not kerp happening. Turn the oven and wsrming plate up as a minimum. Or actually cook the food so it is all ready at the same time.

10/10Nice and welcoming restaurant. Food was excellent as was the service. Enjoyed the evening and would highly recommend. For real ale lovers the Cornish "Proper Job" IPA was perfect.

10/10The food, service & ambience was all perfect. The seating is such that it is both cosy and far enough away from fellow diners for privacy. Really recommend it.
