6/10The food is very good but the prices have increased a lot and I don't feel the restaurant itself warrants that. We went on a Saturday night and there were 2 tables of very noisy men who spoilt our enjoyment. In the past I have had reasonably priced, delicious food and a pleasant ambience. The latter was terrible and very disappointing.

9/10This was not just dining but a whole new experience. The way the server (Manager I believe) helped us choose the appropriate dish and then explained how to prepare and eat same was part of the overall enjoyment. The little surprise between course dishes were a lovely touch. We shall certainly be back to try other menu items - or even the Bottomless Thali on a Thursday evening. The Taster Menu also sounded most appetising.

6/10The food was bland and uninteresting. You can get a good Thali in Lind at a fraction of the price. It was very expensive and we expected to be blown away by the flavour. We were all disappointed. Probably suited more for children

8/10The restaurant has been there for many years although it has changed name the quality of the food has always been very good, service great and the experience overall was excellent. However, there is one negative to the experience in that the cost of the meal has now increased to such a level that it is now pricing the restaurant out of many people’s range. The fork quotes the meal price at an average of £35, this is for the main course by the time you add a starter at £17 a desert at £16 and one drink at £9 for a beer you are looking at £75 plus a person. Lunchtime menus can cost less, but it is a real shame that such a good restaurant is pricing itself too high for many people.

9.5/10The food was superb and the service excellent. Expensive but the quality of produce was excellent and there was plenty of it. I was a little disappointed that dogs were allowed into the restaurant.

10/10had a wonderful evening, the food was really great, my wife and I shared a few of the dishes like the thali and dosa, highly recommend doing that to get a full sample of the wonderful food.

10/10Can only say really friendly staff, attentive without being to intrusive. As for the food amazing as always. First time our friends had been and they were definitely impressed. Can't wait to return in 2025

6.5/10Mains were lovely. Loos were unclean and looked as if someone had been sick in the sink. They were under staff and it took 2.5 hrs start to finish. Food was lovely apart from a pallet cleanser with water added.

Everything! The friendly service ... waiter could not do enough for us and explained all of the dishes we ordered. The food tasted lovely ... not just one bog standard "Indian" taste. All of the dishes were beautifully created and presented. We had a fantastic evening and dining experience.

10/10The Cook’s Tale Restaurant provides an excellent original Indian menu. The food whilst maintaining the traditions of Indian cuisine is always a little different. The restaurant is well worth visiting.

Fantastic flavor experience. We had the Tomahawk from the tandoori(sic! - a first in an Indian restaurant). It was very tender with a super rub of Indian herbs and spices. Came with a delicate sauce, flavorful veggies, potatoes and rice. This was topped by a rose/vanilla crème brûlée to die for. What an unexpected treat!

6.5/10Food was great as was the ambience, it is rare to find a restaurant with a pianist playing while you enjoy a meal with friends. The menu was varied and not your go to British Indian cuisine, but an authentic menu considerately created. Unfortunately, I believe the night we dined they had some staffing / operational issues as the service was incredibly slow and the staff were visibly stressed. There were some walkouts of customers that did provide some light entertainment - more fool them as the food was great and had the drinks been flowing we may not have noticed the wait as much. Am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and revisit some time in the future as the food really was that good and the atmosphere quite unique.
