We booked on the same day we lunched there. It is a beautiful location and the interior decor is very appealing. The tables were reasonably well spaced apart but were a little cramped for the number of covers laid up. We were only two but fortunately had a table for four which was just right for us. Service was certainly at a liesurely pace and staff were mostly in very casual attire, with only the odd one in a mix of uniform. The menu choice and food were both of a good standard and worth the visit despite it being at a somewhat higher than the average expected price. We enjoyed the ambiance so will happily go again.

Server didn’t put our order through and to retake the order. Forgot drinks. Service very poor, waited 1hour and 40mins for our main meal. No apologies for the wait … food very average,broccoli stems rock hard.chips over cooked definitely not worth the wait. Shames as the views are fabulous.

Staff very pleasant and helpful . Plates were cold food was cold. , menu states "bottomless gravy " ? we didnt have any had to ask for it, which was given. Knives wouldnt cut a carrot...so perhaps new ones required. Very disappointing . Perhaps more concentration on food rather than fancy presentation. We didnt complain as we were not paying the bill.

A beautiful situation commanding magnificent riverside/estuary views (best at high tide). Plenty of parking in quiet backwater. Very good menu and tasty food - but my lady's main course bland and disappointing (the sea bass with too many potatoes and pureed peas). Moderately priced. Service very good by cheery responsive girl student. Will go again - but slightly disappointed - but my lady and I enjoyed it very much. Overall score 8/10.

We love Coombe Cellars. However today was so busy the food service was very slow. Took an hour for out food to appear. Very pleasant staff. Can only think short staffed at the beginning of Easter week.

Greeted with a smile and guided to a table with a view. Excellent service without pressure for drinks and food. One meal - Cod & Chips was above average in quality, three meals - Half Chicken just about scraped in to average. The price of wine is extortionate. Two of settled for a pint of beer, one drank Diet Coke and the other tap water only.

After a worrying start as they couldn’t find my reservation but I had a confirmation email and text the staff didn’t make it a big deal and made us very comfortable and welcome as it was not only New Year’s Day but my partners birthday! Food fantastic, views around beautiful and staff lovely! Thank you and will definitely be back in the summer as I live local but first time visiting

Staff were very good - but not enough staff for the number of tables. Disappointed that scallops were not in the menu as they had run out. Main courses disappointing. I had the salmon and mixed broccoli, samphire and spinach - when the plate arrived it was swimming in water as the vegetables hadn’t been drained properly- even worse - they were cold. Needless to say - only the salmon fillet was eaten. Worse was my husband’s fish and chips. The chips looked and tasted like they’d been refried s couple of times - but the fish looked anaemic and undercooked with soggy batter. The fish also had a grey tinge to it - not appealing. Not a good meal out which is a shame as Coombe Cellars always used to be good!

We are regulars at Coombe Cellars and we are never disappointed, having lunch overlooking the river is lovely. I just wish that they had not discontinued the small version of my favourite meal as the large version is too much for me and I hate to waste it. We older people don't have big appetites as a rule. This is the only disappointing thing about this venue.

We asked for a window seat on reservation, and despite it being a busy Saturday evening, we got seated with a sunset view of the river.. The service was prompt and polite and welcoming. Menu was big enough to give plenty of choice, and not usual pub grub. No chicken tikka marsarla, or lasagne, a more interesting menu. A pleasant evening with friends and no delays despite a 50th birthday party at another table.

Great location and lovely staff. Unfortunately the food let it down for me. My sea bass did not arrive with a roasted red pepper nor fennel as described on the menu. It had some dieced salad(made to look like salsa) concealed under the raised fish. There were only two tiny diced spiced melons! Beautifully presented though. I was looking forward to the perno taste of the fennel and roasted red pepper. I felt I had to send this back. I then chose fish and chips. I think it was my unlucky day as the fish tasted unfresh and wet as if it came from a freezer. I could not complain again - just couldn't especially as I was treating a guest. My guests food was very good.

Totally overwhelmed by the additional vegan menu. Lots of choice and beautiful tasting and presented food. Good service with friendly, well presented staff.
