2 of our group of 4 had gammon not very hot ,,chips cool but quite nice egg not thoroughly cooked disappointing side just peas other places offer same but also mushroom and tomatoes and cheaper .

Good attention as I had a disabled friend with me a table had been saved by the disabled entrance as requested. Food was served hot and delicious. Have pre booked a pre Christmas lunch which was executed on the spot ..very friendly and efficient.

Lovely, spacious pub with outdoor seating and easy to find as it’s beside the A26. The staff were friendly and helpful. A path leading from the spacious car park also allows for a peaceful, rural stroll after you’ve eaten, on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. Some well-kept Harvey’s ale was available, though it would have been nice to have had a wider choice of cask ales. My meal seemed to have been left under a heat lamp for a little too long, leaving it a bit dry on the outside, but this wasn’t the case with the other meals and the food was otherwise tasty and good value. Well worth a visit.

The table was perfect and so clean - the waiter was the best but a lot of things were off the menu. Three of us had roasts. - the potatoes were awful and veg undercooked - waiter offered two free puddings - he is an asset to your restaurant

The web site booking did not work, when we arrived there was no record of us booking. Fortunately there was a spare table but not where we asked to be placed. The service was slow and my steak arrived quite tough and cold. They seemed to want us to leave before 10.00.pm as they told us that the bar closes at 10.00.pm and this was a Saturday night. Other diners must have know because the place was almost empty by 9.30.pm

My friend and I had just completed a 10 mile walk in 3 hours so it was great to receive a warm welcome on entering and the offer of pre- lunch drinks which were quickly produced. We were well looked after throughout our lunch by Steph who was polite, friendly and efficient. The food itself was very good (we both had the Sea Bass in a Pea and Pancetta veloute). First time visit but certainly not the last.

WE FIND THE STAFF ALWAYS KIND AND ACCOMODATING ALLOWING YOU TO SIT IN THE MORE OPEN OR PRIVATE AREAS ,,,OFTEN ASKING IF THE MEAL IS OK AND IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE THAT THEY COULD GET YOU. PARKING IS EASY TOO...

Delicious Sunday roast and fish and chips. Very enjoyable. Felt prices were very reasonable. Nice ambience, not crowded and enough space. Parking onsite, very easy and enjoyable visit.

Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. Real log fire. Pub is in a convenient location with great walks nearby. Food was good although not exceptional. Would return.
