6/10Food is ok, but overpriced,. It is comparable to the price in Central London. Unfortunately, there’s a big group and kitchen couldn’t handle well. It took us to wait for almost an hour between starters and mains.

10/10Really friendly welcome and service. The food was excellent on a limited menu-not such a bad thing! Emphasising quality, not quantity.

10/10We were made very welcome and the food was excellent. The staff took their time and didn't rush us, but they were always observant when we wanted something. A very enjoyable lunch.

7.5/10Ordered wine when starters were served, after 3 reminders it came after we'd started mains. One starter was wrong, one main delayed, and another dessert was wrong. Otherwise food mostly very good but not great. Drinks were all lovely but for the delay. Good team, sweet pub.

9/10Really perfectly cooked fresh ingredients of a basically "pub grub" menu lifted it to a "fine dining" level. Starters each delicious and pretty to view'; fish (haddock) in light crunchy batter, chips large and crisp. Just room for creme brule! Decor is genuine comfy pub, not at all faux.

6.5/10We used to go to the Crown alot over the years.. we appreciate that it has changed ownership but the wine list was either house wine ( which I am sure is good) but then jumps to about £85 a bottle when you go a carte . They gave us a 2019 bottle when the menu Saif it was 2016 without telling us .. only when we tasted it, it tasted young and asked to check the bottle .. Food was fine but the prices are steep compared to equivalent gastro pubs in the area

10/10Not many places open for a nice quality meal on a Monday, but the relaxed atmosphere and sunny outdoor space made this just perfect for a family birthday meal, can highly recommend the rum punch cocktail, pork belly and mango and passionfruit Eton Mess. Lovely atmosphere with attentive staff on a Monday

Charmingly restored 16C building; formerly two cottages and a bike shop! Drinkers mingle with diners, and dark columns, low beams and roaring fires create a cosy atmosphere. Carefully prepared British dishes are robust and flavoursome.
