We enjoyed a very nice Christmas meal at The Crown. We booked a table at 7.30pm and did have to eventually approach a member of staff to seat us as we were left standing for a while and werent being greeted. Once we were seated our waitress was lovely, very friendly and helpful and we cannot fault her at all. Food was nice apthough we werent very taken with the Christmas menu so all decided to opt for the standard menu. There were a lot of children in the pub so it was quite noisy at times with a lot of Christmas excitement and screaming. This was ok for us but a romantic meal might not have been ideal on the evening that we dined. All round a very nice evening with just a couple of negatives. Many thanks.

7.00 on a sunny Sunday and they’d practically run out of food! Very little left on the menu, the waitresses iPads were not being updated so they were continually having to come back and apologise. It eas a shambles!

Beautiful day beautiful surroundings but the food let them down. I ordered chicken ceasar salad. It arrived with no chicken it it so I had to send it back. It then came back with three tiny pieces of chicken with a small portion of lettuce and for this I was charged £16.50. Never had this before and eat regularly at this restaurant. Let themselves down on this occasion!

Used to be a lovely place with good food. The fact you have to queue at the bar to order food for 20 minutes when the place was empty showed disorganisation The mangeress was unapproachable and staff tried to give customer service but looked miserable unable able to cope The tables were filthy and uncleared yet the place was empty The food was tough and tasteless my child refused the tough beef it was horrid . I asked at the bar for stuffing I was told you couldn’t buy any but it did come with the meal but they only had enough for specific portions. It then came and I had no stuffing which is the whole point of a roast dinner for me. So overall certainly wouldn’t eat there again

The staff were lovely and it was very peaceful sitting outside by the river, however once again I was let down by the food at this Vintage Inn pub. Unfortunately they were out of both dishes on the menu that my friend ordered (main + desert) and the draught beer broke down after the second pint and they could no longer serve the beer we wanted. The manager did not show any flexibility or compassion towards making the customer happy, instead choosing to stick to the rules and not apologise for lack of availability, which I found really disappointing. My chicken sandwich was flavourless, the bread dry and chicken breast thin, over cooked and tough. My friend’s £16 salmon was dry and the portion was meagre. The flat white was cold and too watered down (served in the same size cup as a cappuccino). I would think twice before going back to this pub.

The staff were very good, helpful and pleasant The food was good The setting lovely, even the cloudy August weather didn't affect the afternoon The 2 servers were a delight when I asked for one candle to celebrate an 82 yr olds birthday and they found one which made his celebration table 61 12.30 Thank u

It’s the first time we have dined here and we would highly recommend it. We called in on the afternoon for drinks because of the outdoor setting and the food looked lovely so we decided to book a table for the evening. Ellie was our waitress and she was really welcoming, attentive and friendly and the food did not disappoint. We will most definitely be back!
