7/10The place could do with a clean up outside and the garden was amok with weeds. First impression poor. Pub inside was pleasant, staff attentive. Food disappointing. Triple cooked chips diabolical. Linguine lacked the crab we thought plus lacked sauce.

6.5/10Our lunchtime visit a 1pmbooking had a few ups and downs, we were quickly greeted given lunch menu and shown to a pleasant table, All diners commented on how difficult it was to read the menu! It was a while before the waiter took our order ,some were disappointed that the meal they had ordered was unavaiable. The waiter apologised that they had a failed delivery. Again there was a delay in receiving food but our drinks were rapidly supplied. My gammon was presented with eggs, fries and peas, but the shepherd's pies although piping hot and pleasant were served without any sides. Our puddings were served each with pleasant boat of custard We were entitled and served tea and coffee with our lunch fixed price meal, but only one guest had managed to read this on the menu. Will we visit again. Yes d

7/10Members of staff greeting and serving were excellent. Food on this occasion was average chicken over cooked and chewy; rice overcooked and solid when presented in a tower.

10/10Good British pub food with above average presentation. Unlike some restaurants they allowed us to present our own birthday cake with no extra charges. Good friendly service.

5/10two meals, fish and chips were very good.but the other two meals were very poor.they were light lunches which were the country chicken sandwich which was very dry, there was no chedderin the sandwich.the chips were over cooked.we asked for 4 irish coffees which were very poor, they came in cups ,not proper glasses as they are normally made in.very little whiskey in.tasted awful left them and complained about them.very poor offering.

3.5/10Our booking for a window seat was unavailable to us. The chicken pie top crust was light but the rest of the pastry was dense and gluey; the chicken underneath was over cooked. The yellow coloured mashed potato had a curious paste like consistency and the carrot was also inedible. The cabbage escaped and was fine.

9.5/10Lovely evening. Great service and friendly staff. We all enjoyed our food. It was warm and cosy and what we wanted from a pub meal out. No wine lists on the table but we got what we wanted. The Rioja was delicious.
