4/10It was a disaponting lunch despite the fantastic and friendly service. It was a real shame since because the rest of the visita to Sherborne could not have been better.

9/10The service here was 1st class, the ambience was great and the young lad playing the piano was amazing! Whilst I thought the food overall was good, I have to admit I was a little disappointed. The choice was a little limited and not quite the standard I was expecting, especially after reading the reviews. As we were staying at The Eastbury for 3 nights we did in fact, eat here again on our last evening and again the menu was the same with the De Savary choice on offer also the same, I thought they may have changed it up a bit but obviously cooked a big batch and just needed to get rid of it all.

6/10My initial reaction was to ignore your email and simply not go to the Eastbury again. However you may like to know why. You have a garden with green grass which is much pleasanter than a courtyard. That would have been better. The place settings were focused on a brick corner not on the open space. There was a lack of sensitivity and understanding there. The waiter had to be reminded about our order. We suspect he had forgotten. The food was fine.

9.5/10The food was superb, my steak was cooked to perfection and just melted in my mouth. The service was even better, Ollie and the restaurant team were fantastic and a credit to the Hotel.

10/10Really lovely service - the staff were welcoming and friendly. The table was nicely set and we had a good view of the garden. The food was good with a couple of well chosen additional surprise items. A great evening - thank you!

10/10Excellent food and service. We had a really lovely lunch here. The fish and chips were possibly the best we’ve ever had in our view. Very attentive and helpful staff. Thank you

10/10The staff were polite and very professional, but could possibly relax a tad. Food was excellent, however again slightly over complicated Monkfish. Lamb (daal) and Agnolotti were outstanding. A little short of Michelin, but far above the usual hotel ‘brasserie’ experience. Quiet, and very welcoming.

9.5/10Quite possibly one of the best lunches I can remember ever having. Starters of goats cheese and beetroot soup, and very lovely blue cheese brule, mains of lamb curry and monk fish were to die for. All the food was exquisitely prepared, presented and tasted wonderful. We even saw the chef picking herbs from the garden. Unlike other restaurants providing this standard, the helpings were generous too. Finished off with raspberries and sorbet, and chocolate and passion fruit puree. Only disappointment was the rose wine. We will definitely come again.

9.8/10Good restaurant with excellently prepared food. Service helpful and polite. I would suggest the wonderful piano player on Saturday evening could play a little softer for some of the clientele who are less hard of hearing.

9.8/10Excellent food, friendly staff. Small point but a white tablecloth would have added to the experience. Also access to a comfy Lounge to enjoy coffee.

9.3/10The food was excellent and it was lovely to have a choice of fish dishes. The service was good too. However, we made some observations. The atmosphere in the dining room was a little stark down to the lighting and lack of candles For a fine dining restaurant It was strange that you could not have a single glass of champagne or Prosecco only bottles measuring a glass and a half. We also noted that from the wine list you could not order a single glass of desert wine. Very restrictive. Why did some tables have white linen table cloths and not others. It was also a little chilly and there was a draft coming from the closed outside door. With these observations in mind it may be that we do not return which we think is a shame.

10/10We treated some friends to the tasting menu for their birthdays. The food was delicious (we had been before so we knew it would be!) as was the prosecco and wine. The hotel and dining room are beautifully appointed and the staff are excellent - well trained, polite and friendly.
