6/10The lakeside venue is beautiful. The restaurant ambience is hospitable, and the waiter service was very attentive.. However, the delay in bringing food from the kitchen was ridiculous. ( 2 hours until desert); the steak options were not available at all; and other menu items had run out. Probably due to kitchen problems, the food was mostly lukewarm and overcooked.

6.5/10There was an unacceptable wait from ordering the main course to it arriving. We ordered the puddings and twice the wrong pudding arrived at the table. This is Unacceptable considering the cost of the meal

7.5/10Nick our waiter was brilliant we love his banter - one portion of chips luke warm but exchanged promptly - lamb from skewers not brilliant - quite tough. Crumble appeared to smell of cigarette smoke although Nick assured us it was probably from the oven - would visit again but would probably choose different from the menu .

4.5/10Good looking pub. Nice setting by the lake so good to sit outside. Sadly the food was less than average!!! Very much chain restaurant type food, very much all pre prepared and over cooked when it arrived. Price was average if the food had been enjoyable. Matk

10/10I haven't been to the Fishers Pond so this was a trip back in time. The setting is still as I remember, obviously the staff and menu wasn't going to be the same but I wasn't disappointed, the menu provides a variety of dishes and the roast which we chose was probably one of the best i have had. As for the staff, friendly and efficient, so big 10/10 to all!

8/10This is a great place. The staff were quick to serve and very friendly. The food was of good quality but sadly arrived at the table only lukewarm which spoilt all the other good features.

8/10Found on The Fork to meet up with friends for Sunday Lunch. Was a dismal grey wet day but warm and bustling inside the pub. I’d booked weeks prior & asked for a table with a view but when I was taken to our small table it wasn’t by the windows; though I could see the pond across the room. Host shrugged & said “everyone asks for a view”. First course flew onto the table; it was good & priced at top end at £21.50 for most of the carvery choices. Table split two had desserts & two coffee & mini desserts. The coffees arrived 5 mins before desserts. Alcohol was fairly priced & wine was good & served at right temperature. Overall a positive experience.

6/10We where very disappointed with the table we where given we asked especially for a table for four in the forties numbers but were given a table right at the back not very good. As it seems you cannot cope with a request and we were led to believe that you would we will now not be booking for a party for my 80th birthday on table 20 cannot rely on your staff

10/10Been here a few times now , the food is excellent, if the weather is good it’s great to sit outside looking over the pond .. nothing bad to say about it. Wonderful place.

5.5/10We were very disappointed with the service we received on arrival. We were told by a very stroppy lady that they had no booking for us despite me having confirmation on my phone. She didn’t want to know. We won’t be going there again!

7/10Waited a fair while for someone to take a drinks order so OH went to the bar. While he was there waiting to be served we had our drinks order taken at the table but that was about 25 mins after getting there. Was really looking forward to a steak. Was given menus but wasn’t told they had no steak until it was time to order. Then I felt compelled to quickly make another choice and ended up with a burger. I never order burgers. It wasn’t what I had planned for our Anniversary meal but it was ok. Unfortunately for us we had a table of 4 very loud know it alls next to us which stopped me being able to hear what my husband was saying. Not a fault of the restaurant of course. All in all the quality of the food was good and the servers were excellent if a bit slow. Not sure I will ever go back though.

9.5/10Fishers Pond has an attractive setting and is a clean, well-laid out restaurant. On arrival a queue had formed at the bar and we were uncertain how we should proceed. No-one came to us and we waited 5-10 minutes before someone said we could take a certain table. We took ourselves there - we were not shown or given the possibility of a table nearer to the water. The restaurant was busy but not full. Once seated everything went much more smoothly. However, 2 of the meals we chose were no longer available despite still being on the menu, and we had not been advised otherwise when we sat down. Two staff members seemed to be long-standing staff but others seemed new and to be in training. The staff uniform was rather a severe colour and staff did not stand out initially. We ordered drinks and then food at nice intervals. The food came in an acceptable time-frame and was very tasty. The menu choice was good (apart from the non-availability). Desserts were also very nice. The vegan & vegetarian options were appreciated. A pleasant experience but a member of staff on the door would have been helpful.

5/10The menu was very limited and the service was was very slow. The table opposite us waited 15 minutes for a cup of coffee from the bar. We waited half hour for our main meal. We didn't order a dessert as couldn't chance another half hour wait

10/10The experience was excellent. The staff were very polite and attentive My only complaint was I did ask for a window table overlooking the pond. Apparently the staff did not get message I left on booking. Does this review go to the restaurant or is just a computerised review? Regards Mike Gibson

4/10Table for eight reserved. Hopelessly understaffed for a Wednesday evening meal and we were kept waiting for a very long time. Comedian waiter was unnecessary. When food eventually arrived it was cold. 'Fishers Pond' cannot and will not be recommended.

7.5/10The restaurant was busy and had a nice atmosphere for lunch , however there was no ketchup to be had, unfortunately we were not told until after our meal was delivered, we would have ordered something else as fish and chips really need ketchup

8/10Really nice restaurant, friendly staff. We've eaten here a couple of times and the food is really good. My husband did struggle a little with the menu choice, but I liked quite a few of the options available

9.5/10We had a lovely meal, the only issue we had was that the message I left on our booking about a wheelchair user being part of our party didn't make it to The Fishers Pond so the host had to do some swapping of bookings but after that the experience was faultless

10/10Excellent service by Nick the waiter who asked the chef for my soup to be heated up. Delicious evening meal on 2 occasions in last 2 weeks. 3 of us had different meals and each one was fantastic. We will be back soon.

10/10we both really enjoyed our meals. Perhaps a little more attention to serving temperature would be good. My meal was all too cold and was sent back, if then delicious. my wife's potato and veg were not hot. Not a complaint but something for the chef etc to be aware of

10/10Really enjoyed our evening out, good food, very nice staff and well spaced tables. We treated our 10 year old granddaughter and she loved it too, she ate everything. Well done Fishers Pond!

10/10Went here for the first time last night and all I can say what a fabulous restaurant with an excellent choice from the menu plus the specials that they had on the day and all with a reasonable price, all I can say excellent restaurant with great staff ????????
