The Taramasalata was home made, slightly grainy for my liking but not bad. The mixed grill was ok, the best bit was the lamb chops. I do like restaurants that have been around for 50+ years but it’s in need of some TLC. Unfortunately we wouldn’t rush back.

Went on a Saturday, it was not too busy. Ordered the Four Lanterns special mixed meze which came with some delicious starters, fried calamari and grilled meat. The staff was friendly and explained the dishes and brought the food in different intervals which allowed us to ensure slowly all the different tastes. At the end, they also offered us a slice of orange cake which I am still thinking about, it was fantastic!

We were the only table for a late lunch, which is why I gave the ambience score a bit lower (didn’t realise they shut for a couple of hours between lunch and dinner). The food was excellent, we shared tzatziki and garlic mushrooms to start (amazing mushrooms), then had the garlic king prawns and pork souvlakia for mains, both of which were very tasty. They gave us complimentary dessert and a shot of grappa, which was very kind. Great food and lovely staff, will be back.

As ever, The Four Lanterns was charming, great food, really lovely staff and a place I will continue to return to. I wish it was nearer me, but it is always worth the ,not really very long, trip. Great value too

First visit to the 4 lanterns, overall very nice, staff polite & friendly, we missed the option for Gyros but what we had was mostly great, special mention of the salad #very nice. The pork was hot and miss, some tasty, some a little tough. Overall a strong 4/5

Great service, we arrived early but were shown to our table by a window which I had requested on our booking as someone had recommended a window seat in a previous review. Waiter was very friendly and assisted us with tips on the menu. Taramasalata was really good as were the sardines. Other members of our party had the maze and that was lovely with big portions. If I was a meat eater I would have helped them because they couldn’t finish it but said it was all lovely and well cooked. I had mentioned in our booking that we were booking my daughter’s 18th birthday and they gave us complimentary desserts in the form of orange cake and baklava which was very kind of them. 15 minute walk from Oxford Street and away from the hustle and bustle. Would definitely visit again. Thank you

We really enjoyed the Greek hospitality. The meze was delicious and plentiful. Service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. We went for lunch and it wasn't very busy but can imagine a great atmosphere when it is. There's outside seating when weather permits!

The food and the service is fantastic..love this place. I can't recommend it highly enough. If you want an authentic Cypriot meal (or Meze for those with large appetites) give it a go! Chefs amazing, waiter friendly and so helpful, and owner likes to treat his customers with wonderful free desserts...it's a joy.

We didn't know what to order so we had the Meze and the food just kept coming and coming! We had dips, fish course, meat and rice course. The waiter made jokes about us having a free dessert but there is no way you could eat a dessert after all that! All in all and tasty and fun experience.

We been going to the 4 Lanterns for nearly 10 years and we went back with some friends yesterday didn’t know that the management has changed. Alex and the team were very welcoming and friendly, the food was Lush :) we all really enjoyed it. Thanks for the grappa and delicious desserts… we will be back

It would be easy to walk straight past the restaurant - it doesn't look that special from the outside. However once inside and you can smell (and see) the food in the kitchen and feel the hospitality of the staff you realise what a little gem The Four Lanterns is. We were there for an early dinner (5.00pm) and it soon filled up - I was glad I had booked. The food was great - we love Greece - and this took us right back there. I was really pleased that they had Mythos beer too - my favourite. We will definitely be back.
