I have visited The Fox Den three times over the last month or so and on each occasion the food and the service have been fantastic. Special shout out for the pie of the day. I had a steak and ale pie a few weeks ago and my friend enjoyed a turkey and mushroom pie this week - both huge portions and delicious.

Came to celebrate daughters birthday. Weren't offered drinks while waiting for part of the group to arrive. When we did order, food was received quickly and was very good. We waited quite some time once main course finished, then when the main meal was cleared away we were not offered the option of ordering a desert or further drinks. After about 20 minutes we decided to give up, and I had to go to the bar to request to pay the bill. The same server sorted out the bill, and when I paid at the bar, there was no conversation as to whether we had enjoyed our meals etc.( could not give you the servers name, as she didn't introduce herself, and was not wearing any I'd badge.) This was our 3rd visit here, and was by far the worst customer service we have had, despite the restaurant being fairly quiet.

This restaurant has good food, the waiters are friendly, the atmosphere is ok, but the service is super slow, the lady who served me and my family explained to us that they were short of staff in the kitchen, but still they were late even for the drinks. I think that unfortunately in Britain, it is more and more difficult to find a restaurant, where there are no delays or issues with the service compared to other European countries, where they are much faster and even somewhere the culinary culture and recipes are more elaborate and difficult to cook. The food as I said was ok, but the desserts, more or less, "lacked warmth" when making them I think (as they say).

THE STAFF WERE VERY POLITE. COSEY ROOMS. FIRE WASNT LIT. FOOD VERY TASTY. EASY TO PARK. DIDNT HAVE TO WAIT TO BE SEATED. CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS NICE AND MENU WAS GOOD ALOT OF CHOICE.

We sat, where I'd asked, in a slightly quieter part. The food was lovely and the service was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch - it was great to see old friends again .

We have used this restaurant many times - It is always clean, service is great, the food is always fresh and enjoyable - they serve real ale as well other on tap drinks. Do not expect to be served with your food immediately as it is only prepared once ordered.

We had 5 roast dinners today. Unfortunately it did not live up to the expectations and was highly overpriced for the quality of food. The potatoes were badly burnt, Yorkshire puddings were hard (and probably supermarkets bought frozen ones), parsnips were nice but hard on the outside, broccoli was undercooked. Pork was lovely but the portion of beef wasn’t very generous. Overall highly overpriced and poor quality.
