7.5/10Lovely very busy venue. Though food was good service was polite and very friendly but delivery of food very slow not overly warm and on cold plate so didn’t retain heat

5.5/10Starters very good Mains were ok. However our lemon sole dish had large bones in it, unedible. 85 year old nearly choked. The mix trio of roast, chicken was dry, pork was just fat. Desserts very good

7.5/10The welcome and service were fine. As for the meal, we were extremely satisfied with the main and pudding. We were disappointed with the starter. We shared the Camembert but it wasn't cooked well, resembling a thickish soup the more we delved into it. Luckily the bread was plentiful and we were able to mop it up.

9/10The food was excellent and if anything just too much of it! Unfortunately the service was not what I had hoped for as the waiting time to have your order taken was quite long. After waiting for around 10 minutes after being seated, I decided to go to the bar and get my own drinks as there didn’t appear to be enough staff and they were busy or not very attentive. Once our food order was taken, the meals arrived fairly quickly and I can’t stress how nice they were. Our table was cleared reasonably quickly once we had finished eating, but a glance around the room showed that we were obviously lucky as many tables had not been cleared. The table next to ours got so fed up waiting the guy cleared his own table. The manager did apologise and I believe they were understaffed on a busy day. That said, I would definitely go back and give them another chance as the food was great and the restaurant/toilets etc, very clean.

9/10The first time we have visited this restaurant and it will be the first of many visits., The ambience in particular was outstanding. A real jewel, so accessible for meeting friends from different places.

6.5/10Been eating here for a long time. Seen it ascend from a very poor establishment to one of our favourites. However, just now it seems to be slipping. The food is still reasonably priced, but the quality is not as good. My starter of a paltry amount of mushrooms on a soggy crumpet, buried under a forest of watercress was disappointing. Despite the use of tablet technology, the waitress was not fully aware of the menu and had to return a couple of times to check on aspects of our (simple) order. I doubt it was her fault, more a training issue. Further, as a cask ale enthusiast, the Adnams Ghost Ship I ordered was, at best, drinkable - very short on condition. The rest of the food was as expected, but Fox - please keep your standards up. You have a lovely place here.

8/10The waitress was lovely I think she should get a raise. Her name was Izzy. The food was lovely but i think the rotisserie style chicken could use some vegetables to tie the dish together and make it more substantial.

7/10My husband had the tomato soup and a pizza, which were good. However, I had the duck salad and it wasn’t good. The duck was not crispy and was very chewy and I could not eat it all. I had to leave the duck and just eat the salad.
