We went back to this restaurant, as we had a wonderful experience when we went for my birthday. On this occasion, the waitress told us there was no beef left at 5.30pm which seemed a little bad for so early in the day. My wife and mum ordered the belly of pork Sunday roast, when it came it was not as good as the time my wife had it before it was cut like sliced pork rather than the nice piece of belly pork on the previous visit. We all ordered the apple and damson crumble with custard, we had to complain about them as they were cold. The quality of the dish was again not as good a quality, little crumble, fruit a little sour. I think there was possibly a different chef working. I wont be going back in a hurry

The restaurant refused to accept the code given to them for £20 off the meal because the cashier said he didn’t know anything about FORK and said we probably had the wrong Fox and Hounds. We hadn’t it was Lower Harlestone Road Northampton. NN7. 3NL The code is 1900719985 What can I do.? F Rees

It was clearly very busy as in addition to the usual Friday night bustle there was a wedding party in the back room. We had to wait a long time for our water glasses then once they came the wait for the food wasn’t too bad. However the quality of the food was really disappointing. The mushroom risotto had so much vinegar in it, it was inedible and many of us had a taste and we all agreed. There was very little fish in the fish cakes and the linguini sauce was watery. We have eaten from this menu before and it is usually much better. We had no apology for the risotto and it was only after one of our party bringing this to the attention of the staff they begrudgingly reduced the bill by £20. Unfortunately we will not be rushing to come back to your restaurant.

This absolutely amazing place had the best service and the best menu! Food was “WOW”!!! The Food we had enjoyed at the time of dinner. It was really delicious taste with great quality, everything had unique taste which we had ordered, nice arrangement and services from the staff while eating. We definitely will come back.

Been here many times and usually excellent, but today was very poor. At 5pm they had already run out of one of the menu items. My wife then ordered the chicken Sunday roast. Disappointingly this was 3 pieces of roast chicken (small drumstick and 2 thighs) as opposed to slices or even 1/4 chicken. The sautéed greens consisted mostly of garden peas, and the bread sauce tasted more like horseradish, and was served inside the Yorkshire pudding. The “bottomless” gravy was a limited quantity already on the plate. Worst of all the roast potatoes were not even served. When questioned the waitress wasn’t even sure they were meant to be served, A plate of roast potatoes arrived. The other main was Sea bass on a salsa which was meant to include pickled watermelon with a green pesto dressing. There was one 1cm cube of watermelon, and approx 1/4 teaspoon of pesto. When questioned I was given further pesto. Terrible experience at a previously excellent restaurants.

Lovely restaurant with good food and varied menu. Only downside was the kids cod goujons was a bit too oily. Other than that it's a brilliant place with great service by Zachary. I highly recommend.

booking taken good meal I had lamb I was pleased as the one meat which I have found not on menu in most places well cooked and persented my son and his girl friend were both pleased with their roasts and desserts staff helpful as disabled only negitive waiting between courses
