10/10We have always had a very warm welcome and tonight was no different. We had a lovely drink before our meal by the fireside. The food as always was delicious. The menu is varied but we struggle to look past the venison pie. We could have ordered when booking but then it’s always good to check the menu 😝. Food is locally sourced so is fresh and a high standard . However it takes skill to put them together and present to perfection. Without a doubt the star of the show is the chef . Highly recommend making a booking. We will obviously be back .

10/10We visited for dinner on Hogmanay. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was very good. Three of our party of four had the highly recommended pie, one of which was vegetarian, and were not disappointed. Would have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant and will book again when visiting Grantown-on-Spey.

9/10Booked for NYE at 2pm on the day and from the moment we arrived the service was excellent. The food choice was great and the food came fast. There was a piper playing and they even offered free jacket potatoes to take up to the square for hogmanay.

The recommendations through the local Grapevine lived up to the praise. A nice, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff are all very good and the food was excellent. I had the Chef Lucy's Venison pie, made to order and it was fabulous. Highly recommend this bar and restaurant within The Speyside Hotel in Grantown-on-Spey.

10/10Can’t recommend highly enough. Warm welcome and not just from the log fire. Very well stocked bar. Excellent choice of menu. Amazing food. We don’t have kids but I did take note today that the menu included kids options. Dog friendly as well. We are return customers and will be back soon.

9.5/10I had the homemade tomato soup, venison pie and chocolate sticky toffee. The soup was so vibrant and flavoursome. The venison pie pastry was superb with large pieces of venison in a delicious gravy with tasty vegetables, potatoes and a super tasty sauce. The sticky toffee was a soft sponge with an excellent chocolatey taste. Over all the food was superb!

7/10The main feature of our meal was the chateaubriand which was excellent - beautifully seasoned and cooked. Sadly this was let down by the fact that the plates, vegetables and mashed potato were cold. I suspect that the problem was that they were very busy and although we were happy to wait for our steak, which takes a very reasonable 30 mins to cook, things didn't move as quickly as they should have once the steak was cooked. The rest of the meal was good as was the wine.

10/10Found the restaurant on Google while staying in Grantown for a long weekend. Booked for a Sunday evening and wasn't disappointed. Staff were very attentive and polite, the food was excellent, especially the venison pie. No rush or pressure, just an enjoyable meal. Mix of residents and walk ins like ourselves. Will be back next visit to town.

4.5/10I had a rib-eye steak with peppercorn sauce for £33.50. I asked for medium rare, which it was. The steak was really tough, hardly seasoned and almost inedible, I left most of it which is very rare for me. The sauce was thin and tasteless. The barman/manager was unfriendly and seemed to view my presence as an inconvenience. The waitress was brilliant.
