Excellent
Fabulous.
A delightful and beautifully furnished country hotel and restaurant. Our third visit for lunch, all of which we have enjoyed. The decor in the restaurant is lovely and the service is just as it should be. If I had one slight gripe (which stops me from giving 5 stars), it would be that the portion sizes are too small. I appreciate that it’s fine dining, but I could have polished off the minuscule main course in around 4 mouthfuls and the even more minuscule dessert in two! In the case of the main courses (usually, we find, the weaker of the 3 courses here), these would simply benefit from more vegetables. Desert portions just need to be larger. Thankfully, I had bulked up on the lovely complimentary crusty bread, otherwise I might have left hungry. We all agreed that the amuse bouch was sensational. We shall definitely return, but remembering to fill up on the bread!
I have been fortunate to dine in many Michelin starred restaurants in my opinion this is up there with them food exceptional service immaculate & friendly. This takes eating out to another level !
The dining experience was for my partner's Birthday & was a very enjoyable evening. The service was very good with attentive staff who looked after us excellently. The lighting in the restaurant with lots of lit candles was nice & romantic.
Lovely relaxing afternoon tea though scones were still a little frozen in the middle
Excellent menu very tasty- steak very good. Breakfast varied and well cooked.
The food was truly amazing. The staff were able to explain each dish and the little extra complimentary tasters were sensational. We would love to dine there again
Superb quality food
My friend and I were a bit perplexed as to why the tea was served as teabags and also with no description of the tea verbally or in the menu. Together with quite hard water this didn’t make a very good cup of tea. We both thought this was quite central to an afternoon tea menu and would return if it had been better. The cakes and scones were very nice.
Fabulous, exceeded our expectations in every way. A proper dining experience at exceptional value. Wife loved that we could park easily too - saves the heels apparently! Great food with choices to suit everyone, lovely pre dinner nibbles and chilled bubbly, excellent cheerful service from everyone, and lovely surroundings. We were surprised at the bill in a good way too - exceptional value. Would be a great venue for a special meal and the hotel has a good spa too & is close to Cheltenham so would make for a good weekend treat too. Outstanding all round.
Excellent service. All staff extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon tea was delicious. Excellent choice of sandwiches.
The ambiance of the restaurant, plus the hotel & grounds in general, is lovely. The price of the 3 course lunch menu is very good, especially as it comes with nice breads and an amuse bouche. Bar prices, on the other hand, are extortionate. Over £10 for a Pimms and Lemonade was excessive, especially as one of them was under sized, being served in a smaller glass (with no explanation). The lamb main course was a disappointment. Fatty, tasteless and accompanied with a couple of unpleasant tasting pastes that didn’t suit the dish at all. All other dishes (amuse bouche, starters, the other mains and deserts) were first class. Service was acceptable but not quite matching the ambiance of the restaurant or quality of food. Coffee and tea is an additional £4.50 per head (again, a little excessive) and advertised as coming with ‘a chocolate’. On both occasions that we have dined here the chocolate hasn’t been provided until we asked. Overall, not quite such a good experience as our previous visit but we shall definitely return.
Afternoon tea was excellent, we couldn't eat it all so brought some home with us.
We had been to the greenway in three previous occasions but unfortunately this will be our last generally things are on the decline the restaurant was lovely as usual but very under staffed and not good value for money and we had a lot of waiting
Everything was great. Only criticism, but it was a significant one, was that the music playlist was absolutely abysmal. It wasn't that I/ we displiked the music, it just simply didn't fit in with the setting or situation whatsoever.
I ordered from the vegetarian menu, and it was amazing. So tasty.
Food and service excellent, gluten free diet catered for
Food is amazing and service is fantastic
Lovely restaurant and setting. Think the set menu selection could benefit from a change. Not sure how often they change their menu. Market menu was a bit limited in variety and in choice. Had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was ever so sweet, needed more ice cream to balance the dish. Staff were amazing and attentive. Romantic setting
Food and service was excellent, my daughter had the sticky toffee pudding and said it was the best thing she had ever tasted!
