The steak night was a great success and excellent value. As always the staff were exemplary and very friendly. At first we we were seated next to a extremely loud party which affected my hearing impediment. The server kindly and discretely moved us to a quieter area of the restaurant. We have booked a table for seven to celebrate our son's birthday on Easter Sunday and anticipate another superb roast lunch.

I knew the food at the Hare was first rate in terms of the regular menu but this was the first time to try the monthly 'steak night'. Given how good a good steak can be and how dodgy a dodgy one can be, I had my fingers crossed as the organiser for a meal for a sizeable group of friends new to the pub. However, no luck needed and as always Matthew, Paola and the team came through brilliantly, as attested to by the sudden silence as lively banter instantly gave way to contented munching when the food arrived! The steaks were cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavour - definitely at the sublime end of the good spectrum. Result!

Stayed at a tree house at Oakside Lodge down the road and had Sunday lunch at The Hare - it was the BEST roast ever! An amazing weekend topped off by amazing food and such a lovely friendly place! Thank you - we’ll be back soon so get those Yorkshire puddings ready!

Very warm welcome when we arrived. service was excellent as was the beer and food. And the pianist playing a cheeky Lady Gaga song made for a very plesant afternoon.

My son and I thought we should visit and support our local pub, “The Hare at Blean”, at last. A lovely country pub where the staff were lovely and welcoming, the ambience perfect and the food absolutely delicious. We had the Roast Beef with all the trimmings which was perfect. We will definitely visit again soon and in the Spring and Summer look forward to dropping in for a refreshing drink on the way back from a dog walk. A great destination!

Great service, very attentive. Food was good with plenty of variety of veg. Only criticism is the crispy strips weren’t pleasant to eat and went soggy in the gravy. I didn’t think the cauliflower cheese sauce was home made as it didn’t have much flavour. The choice of deserts was very limited. The sticky toffee was very grainy and not nice to eat. I wasn’t the only one who didn’t eat it. As it’s a heavy desert, single cream should be an option. Definitely not cold custard. Custard should be served hot. If you offer a veggie/vegan main you should have a vegan option for desert. Apart from that, and my comments are very minor, we really did have a lovely time. Could not fault the staff, cosy atmosphere and the pianist. Thank you
