10/10Popped in for a drink and decided to stay for lunch. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. We'll definitely be back.

7.5/10I enjoy dinning at Vintage Inn and the Hawes is one of my favourites however what is becoming common is you arrive for a meal and there are menu items not available as they have run out !! It does frustrate me how does it run out with a whole weekend to go !!

7/10Although not very warm and served on a cold plate, the food was very tasty. There was no problem taking the food back and serving another portion. The others with me were all very complementary. Presumably it was just an oversight . It will not stope me returning.

3/10Our food was overcooked. My mother had prawns on a skewer that were so overcooked they were like cardboard. The signature burger was over cooked too. Reheated??

7.5/10The restaurant was peaceful, food and service was very good. However it could have been anywhere with spacious lounge area and service tables. It has lost the distinctive atmosphere of the old Hawes Inn that celebrated the building of Rail Bridge and even figured in "Kidnapped". Pity

6/10I was badgered by an endless, pointless series of stupid emails and text messages beforehand, reaching such an irritating crescendo that I nearly cancelled my booking. Totally unnecessary and prices would be much cheaper (and maybe the service faster) if money wasn't wasted on this nonsense. On the night, it took almost an hour to serve the first course - pathetic!

6.5/10A very clean & comfortable eatery with welcoming and friendly staff. Unfortunately the main course wait time was quite lengthy. When the food did arrive the vegetables were only mildly warm.

10/10The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful regarding food safety as we had to wait as another customer was foreign and had dietary issues the staff could not help them enough.

8.5/10Excellent location. Large car park behind the hotel - a boon in the busy one-way street. Welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable and well appointed dining. Super bar. Importantly, very relaxed atmosphere. Didn’t feel rushed. Nice menu. Food quality very good. Prices competitive. Good value. An afternoon well spent with good friends at this location.

10/10Very pleasant staff upon enrty and quick to take my drinks order. I only ordered the burger for dinner but I've not had one like it, delicious and presented beautifully. I saw several other meals delivered to the table and they all look pretty good, I will definitely be more adventurous in my choices next time round ????????

4.5/10I and my family have been regulars at the Hawes Inn for many years and is a firm favourite of my Canadian family when they visit. Five of us visited last night and we were all disappointed with the service, which was painfully slow. We had to ask three times for our drinks. Our food took an age and two of our group had almost finished their mains before the rest of us even had our meals in front of us. We decided it would take too long to order desserts and some had Baileys and I as a driver ordered a cappuccino. Again the wait was long. My coffee was barely warm, had no cappuccino froth and couldn’t even melt a sugar cube. I was embarrassed I had take four friends out to dinner and every one of us left very disappointed and extremely underwhelmed to say the least! A beautiful refurbishment of the premises was adult let down by a poor, poor service. I’d also like to add there is not one pasta dish on the menu, which I find a bit unbelievable and I was told I could not order a Ceaser salad as it was only served at lunchtime, so a salad wasn’t an option either. Very disappointed to say the least.

10/10Very tasty food. First class service. Plenty of space in a well-decorated, relaxed environment. No distracting loud music. We were given plenty time to choose our meal ... no pushy waiting staff trying to get us fed and moved on.

8/10Hi, it’s a restaurant steeped in the history of RLS and Burns, and the atmosphere is nice for a family meal. The waitress was friendly & engaging, but the service was slow, especially towyghe end - so much so that we had to forgoe dessert as we had run out of time. I also had to correct a mistake in the bill.

10/10Service was great . Very attentive , changed our table as not well lit. Did was very good although the portion sizes are enormous. That means wasted food . Don’t think it’s necessary in this day to serve food like that. Very good none the less

10/10We had another lovely meal, the food is well cooked and the service is very friendly. I love that they can adjust your meal as you require without fuss. I really like the layout into small dining rooms as it suits the older style inn character of the restaurant and makes for a cozy atmosphere.

10/10Hawes inn is a lovely place and the service was excellent. My two kids , husband and I all thought our food was delicious and finished it all. The waitress asked about allergies and double checked the ingredients. We were in a rush and the kitchen was able to accommodate. Will go again

9/10First time at this restaurant which has a stunning view next to the rail bridge. We thought it would your usual pub grub but actually it is much better than expected especially the beef Bourguignon
