Very good
We booked as the reviews were very good, however we both thought that the food was poor for the price. I wanted Kiev’s but it came with mash and gravy which sounds awful so opted for a burger. It came on it’s own on a large plate with a small tin of fries! The children’s meals on the table next to us were larger! The fries were practically uncooked. My husband had gammon which was enough for a child. I finished my drink halfway through and we had to ask for another drink and the old glasses were left on the table. There is an argument to be said for being left to get on and enjoy your meal but they clearly weren’t interested in our experience! We ate what we could and left.
Unfortunately the food was very poor. The pizza was disappointing and the rainbow salad was sent back as there was none of the ingredients listed on the menu in it. We ordered 2 espresso martinis but were then told there wasn’t any tia Maria or Kahlua to make them.
This restaurant wasn't the best, staff at the door were quite abrupt about using the App to log in and wearing a mask. We payed 14.50 for the smallest portion of beef and potato pie with three half carrots.Thought this was a starter. Teribble will try another restaurant/ pub on our next visit
Lovely setting, very friendly staff however the main 2 of us had- Lemon & thyme roast chicken was very small. Tasted great however expensive for the portion size. Pizza with spicy prawns was very good and a good size. Puddings - brownie and white chocolate sphere were excellent. Despite the overpriced main we would go back as overall we enjoyed our visit.
Ordered an IPA and a Pinot Gris blush got lager and a white wine when querying the order was told we don’t sell IPA or Pinot blush !!!! Ordered a pizza without anchovy’s came with them so had to wait another 20 mins didn’t bother with desert Will never go again
The food was uninspiring & not particularly well cooked. We felt very unsafe in the pub from a COVID-19 point of view with people sitting very close together & milling around generally. Staff actually laughed at customers arriving in masks but the checks on entry were taken seriously. The service was good & friendly.
Good food and service, lacked a bit of atmosphere and I think that’s probs my because they put us in the back room. The main bar area seemed better
*****
The food was reasonably priced. But my biggest issue is that we had to wait over 1 hour and the starters arrived about 1 minute before the mains. There wasn’t even really an acknowledgement that is was an issue. The couple next to us had to wait around an hour for their dessert
The food was great. Friendly staff great atmosphere. Unfortunately there was a restricted menu due to coronavirus, but we very mich enjoyed our meal
Great pizzas and service. The beer garden is lovely. Good layout with vivid restrictions, plenty of space for all. We would come back here again.
Due to CV-19 we thought the pub would be quieter but nothing like it. We had booked a table for 2 and it looked like the only one (as we were informed) was right by the open door to the garden. This meant that it was colder than usual and had loads of people passing by. The staff were helpful and attentive but they were not wearing any protective measures such as face shields but some wore gloves. There was supposed to be a one way system but was ignored if people wanted to go to the toilet. Additionally the car park was way too small and there is no easy alternative parking nearby, or at least not according to the maitre d’.
Great service and very friendly staff, food was fab too almost forgot ????
We enjoyed a great meal in a very relaxed setting. Our waiter was excellent and very informative about the dishes on offer. All our food was well cooked and I would definitely recommend this restaurant
Had fantastic food and a fantastic waiter really enjoyed the evening will return soon
This is the second visit to the huntsman and I doubt i will be returning in the future, initially we had an issue with our booking until I showed proof of email, then once seated we were sat on a small two people table, which was almost touching the others either side of us, might as well had been dining with 6 strangers, once the food came i personally thought it was bang average for a lot of money, wouldn't recommend .
Lovely pub, menu choice was extensive-something for everyone including fresh pizzas with great topping options. Service was faultless, very attentive. However, we booked a table for 2 and was practically alongside another table for 2, the gap was less than 6 inches! 4 tables were like this in a row. We couldn’t be moved as pub busy. We felt management were in it for profit rather than comfort of their guests by their attitude. Felt uncomfortable as felt we were sharing a table with strangers.
Very comfortable setting staff friendly and welcoming food amazing worth every penny
Really lovely location and good food. Not very good service. Not enough staff to cover the tables. We had to go to the bar twice to get drinks.
Overall a great experience
