7/10Description of the dish when you order would be useful. Fish and chips were amazing but different (I wish I'd had that). Beef cheek was swimming in sauce which was unpleasant and would have been avoided if I'd known. Generally old fashioned place with nice food

10/10We had a lovely welcome, staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the food was presented very well and the quality and taste was fantastic. We will go back, the restaurant was warm, homely and just where you’d want to be for a lovely Saturday night treat.

10/10First time back since the C pandemic. Just as good. Had a wonderful evening of warm ambience, unobtrusive but personal service and excellent food. Ordered the fixed 3 course and they were happy to swap out dessert for a cheese platter to cater to my low carb dietary needs & made the mash topping without the blue cheese for my friend. After 2 courses we were full and they obliged by packing up our desserts in sustainable boxes and booking a taxi.

3/10This has been our go to restaurant for over 20 years sadly no more. I ordered a vegetarian meal only to be given a fish cake as a complimentary dish from the chef. Meal arrived and my grilled goat cheese was cold. No one asked us how our meal was. When we paid we were asked if everything was OK I said not really and she became very defensive saying the food was delivered promptly so she didn't see it was a problem. The staff don't seem interested in their customers the atmosphere has changed and we won't be returning.

10/10It was our wedding anniversary celebration lunch which I had mentioned briefly when booking. On arrival the two very nice staff members wished us many happy returns which was most welcoming. After our meal, we received some petit fours on a plate with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate. So together with the delicious food it quite made our day!

9/10My main course (goats cheese salad) was delicious. However, the rumbaba, which 2 of our party ordered for dessert was disappointing. It was very dry and tough, not at all what we would expect. We did complain and appreciated not being charged. The rest of the meal was fine and we are returning in December for a Christmas lunch.

10/10Presentation of food was superb, with the unexpected surprise of pre-meal bread followed by deliciously refreshing pea & mint bouche served in a mini teacup. All in all very impressed and would definitely go back.
