My friends and I had a very lovely lunch today at The Jetty. The wait staff is absolutely fantastic and very attentive. And the steak was divine!
We did the tasting menu with wine pairings for our anniversary dinner. To be honest it was pretty hit and miss. The beef carpaccio and brill stood out for me and were excellent, full of flavour. My partner loved the oyster amuse bouche. However, the poussin and the soufflé were pretty terrible. The poussin just tasted like a roast dinner, served with boiled cabbage, watery gravy and a lone carrot. The confit thigh was inedible and tasted like day old under seasoned KFC. A skilled chef should also know how to cook cabbage and bring out what can be a superb flavour. This cabbage could have been out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The soufflé tasted like an airy omelette with passion fruit sauce. I barely managed one bite. The wines were paired quite well and the wait staff had obviously memorised the script, but the absence of a sommelier was noticeable as (beyond the scripted descriptions) the staff has little to no knowledge of the wines themselves. All in all it was an okay experience, with the first half of the menu saving the day. However, quite a way to go yet before it’ll count as ‘fine dining’.
Excellent birthday dinner with my friends. Will highly recommend for a classy night out.
Absolutely amazing food and staff couldn't fault anything
Food was average but extremely over priced. Service charge was added over £15 just for a table of two. All dishes were at best average and priced at double what you would expect. Wine was £10 a glass and beer £5 per half pint. Ridiculous, I wouldn’t recommend
As always excellent in all respects Food ,service and ambience first class We are regular visitors to this restaurant and always enjoy a warm welcome
The food here exceeded all expectations! We had a variety of starters and nibbles to begin followed by a main each. Our waiter was super helpful with recommendations and really friendly! I would 100% recommend and visit again!
An amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were so friendly and did an such incredible job, especially given the current circumstances with COVID. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Would definitely go again.
Really lovely food, service and setting overlooking the marina. This was an expensive treat but well worth the money. We will be saving up to go again
The food was great with most of the manu can be gluten free was a bonus too! The fish of the day was good quality too. We wish that the wine menu can be a bit more interesting as we love to try different wines and spirits.
There has always been a fly on the table when you eat, all food raw oysters can only, the other is very general, the steak is very hard, it is the key is the service is poor, a maid service, whole is a snob, and if you order is not expensive, smile disappeared, come to this restaurant, one of the most important is the service, we all consume 140 pounds.
Excellent lunch as always at The Jetty, Southampton . Staff very welcoming and attentive but not intrusive. The ambiance is perfect and it was all very enjoyable.
Really lovely food and beautiful setting, however was not happy that service charge was added onto bill for 2 people
£15 for a glass of wine! Amazing view by the marina and the weather was lovely too. Food a little bland sadly.
Exceptional service- attentive, polite, friendly and knowledgable. Food was superb quality, thought out and balanced flavour combinations, with unique dishes to try, with some “usual faithful” meals with a twist if you are feeling less adventurous. Prices reflect the excellent quality and although it isn’t an “everyday”place to eat (our bill was £159 for 2 people - 3 courses each and a bottle of Prosecco), it was worth the money and a real treat. Atmosphere was classy and relaxed and decor was modern but tasteful. The view over the water was the icing on the cake. Could not have asked for anything more from this restaurant. Best meal I’ve had in YEARS.
A great birthday celebration lunch. Everything was well presented and the quality was exceptional. The service was excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Amazing food from a full menu , wonderful views, exceptional service. First meal out since lockdown and it was a perfect birthday meal! Thank you
Beautiful setting, food and attentive service. We went for a special occasion and were hugely delighted with the fantastic service, delicious varied menu and wonderful marina views. A little dearer than our normal dining experience however worth every penny.
