Mother India at Landsdowne Road is a good restaurant - food is fairly good; service is fine; atmosphere good. My only negative comment would be that it's nothing more than good in all these areas. There is nothing in food, service or ambience that marks it out as hitting higher standards of excellence that I had hoped for. I wouldn't say it hits any tones that make it unique; and I would rate the food as comparable to Indian cuisine in many other restaurants; the service and ambience equally as what you would receive in most places. The Fork rating surprised me - in no way does the restaurant hit a score as high as this. Anything above 9 and I expect a far higher quality than what we received.

Great food, staff, place, located in a quite nice area, big tables. Quality is very high and food is super delicious. I had a discount voucher through The Fork that makes the experience even better, price wise. My partner and I were very stuffed at the end of the meal and happy. I do not think you can fault anything if you choose this restaurant. Recommended and compliments to the chef.

By booking through THE FORK we received a 30% discount on our food. The food was quite good although the chicken was bland and didn't taste much like curry. What was interesting was that the establishment imposed a 30% service charge on the overall bill which we didn't notice at the time otherwise we would have queried it. For a relatively indifferent experience and one member of staff who had difficulty bringing us a glass of water, this surcharge is outrageous.
