Sadly I booked to take my mum here today for her birthday via this booking app. First issue is the directions, they are completely wrong and take you to a different place, when questioned about this on arrival I was told that this often happens, so just an idea maybe look at your website?! Secondly although I had booked afternoon tea for 3 people at 12:15 on arrival I was told I had booked for lunch and the restaurant could not accommodate us for an afternoon tea, I was told I had booked a lunch and not afternoon tea, I asked to see the manager and proceeded to show her how I had booked via the link for the afternoon tea and proceeded to show her that I was actually still able to book for afternoon tea whilst standing in front of her! The manager agreed that the link on the site was misleading but I had in fact booked lunch. All a bit of a joke and sadly ruined my mums special birthday lunch! Very disappointed

Staff very polite. Had to ask for a few more sandwiches and scones which was not a problem. Lovely surroundings and relaxing. It was very quiet and maybe staff could have been a bit more attentive

Lovely location for an afternoon tea. I was happy with my gluten free selection of sandwiches and cakes. The gluten free bread was slightly dry on the outside but tasted still good. The cakes were fresh. I really loved the location and our little walk around the Lytton. Would definitely come back :)

Excellent location and friendly staff. Vegetarian options available. Some of the desert selection were just ok, but most of it was good. Would recommend to friends and family.

Really enjoyed the food. The restaurant is a very pleasant setting with lovely views over the gardens. The staff were all very friendly and helpful but the service was a little slow at times.

We wanted an afternoon tea and booked for that via the website for 5.30 the only time we could get other than 2.30. When we arrived we were td afternoon tea had finihed. We had a meal instead which was good enough nut not what we wanted and had booked for. I think there is an issue with booking afternoon tea via the website and Fork. Staff were sympathetic and helpful but the experience was a let down as a birthday treat.

The sandwiches were a little dry and very little imagination for a gluten free sandwich. Cakes and scone were ok. Staff bought the tea out without any spoons or sugar and the second pot of tea was a Earl Grey not EBT as requested. Also what really annoyed us was tea bags no leaf tea. This is the only one in four venues in the last few years it’s been bags

A hidden gem I guess you'd say, nestled inside the boundaries of a plush retirement village The Lytton was very well presented with an excellent roast dinner. The staff were warm, welcoming and attentive. Although the clientele is predominantly of the retirement age, the atmosphere and surrounding were lovely. It was also quite nice being the youngest person there. I think we'll definitely be visiting again. Worth a visit!

If you want an afternoon of luxury this is the place to go - The food is excellent and the staff fabulous -spent a whole afternoon and the weather was warm and sunny and walked around the lake-
