Good service and food. The Marchmont looks very smart inside. Food was nice, would have liked a slightly bigger portion for the sea bass. I would eat there again, an enjoyable time.

My wife and I had the lamb rump It was tender, cooked well and the dish complemented by vegetables. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Any other comments? Well, I might have liked to have had the dish a little hotter than it was as served but that is a bit unfair since the meat was always warm throughout and to the end.

We were placed in a bay window. Felt a little cramped and needed to ask for cushions as both seats height was a little low. It wasa little drafty and chilly too, but soon warmed up once our food arrived. Food was extremely nice, Xmas menu. You certainly won't leave hungry. No Heineken 0 sadly and a medium glass of wine at 8.95. For a pub meal for 2, £100 with one drink each. Great food but at a high price.

Always love dining here at Marchmont, nice surroundings, comfortable seating, mum loves it, at 95 easy access. Servicereally good at lunch time when we went. The squid was superb as starter, and gammon so tasty. The girl that served us was superb, made u feel very welcome. Your lucky to have her. ????????. Until nx time. ????????

Restaurant was very busy (it was a hot Sunday).. which meant the table we chose outside hadn’t yet been cleaned. That said, the food was wonderful and the food came out relatively quickly given how busy it was. Will definitely be back soon!

Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Disappointed with the beef salad - menu stated ginger, soy and garlic would be used in this dish but none of this came through in the flavour and it was quite bland

Great restaurant outside the town, great location, ample parking and lovely old building. Went with my wife and the food was fantastic with really good service. Would definitely go back!!

Business lunch. Would have given 5 stars all round but for the crispy duck salad. Duck was great and nice sauce (would have liked the spice cranked up a bit) but the underlying salad whilst copious was underwhelming and wasn't a great foil for the duck. Easy to put right tho'. Other than that the 5 of us had a very convivial lunch and I still like the Marchmont very much.
