The table seated all 8 of us for our meal after getting married. It was in a lovely intimate area of the pub, windows open giving a lovely breeze on a hot day, views of the river. The food and service were excellent. Minor point, as the staff were actually lovely, but it would have been nice if they had poured the wine for us. Apart from that everything was fabulous 😊

Waitress good Food disappointing…. Chateaubriand over cooked ! Too small!!! I only ae 2 pieces my son 4 but about 2 inch width half inch thick! Should NOT HAVE BEEN CUT!!! Garnish on platter woeful! Not enough mushrooms 2 shallots!!! THAT WAS IT! No roasted tomatoes veg !!!!!! Small pot of chips! Disappointing for £59!!! Won’t have that again! POOR!!!! SAD AS YOUR STEAKS BETTER & Roadt beef Sunday lunch ! Spent a lot of money & didn’t enjoy my dinner

Megan was our server & was very pleasant and polite: she was very attentive to our needs. Greg & Georgia were the chefs and the food was absolutely delicious. The chairs were comfortable and the restaurant is lovely &airy.

Comfortable restaurant with well spaced out tables. The lighting at out table was very poor and we struggled to read the menu which was in very small print.

My elderly mother, a friend and I had a wedding anniversary lunch at The Midland today ( Monday) and had a really nice time. The setting by the river Goyt is charming. Our food ( including Salmon and Pork plus scallops) was well presented and tasty. The service was prompt and the atmosphere relaxed. We were not hurried away after our meal and stayed chatting. I would definitely book again.

We had a lovely time. We arrived early for drinks by the fire and chatting. This was a special occasion and we really had a good time. The food was excellent and the waitresses were really friendly.

The staff were lovely but we ordered 2 fish and chips and I noticed that my friend didn’t eat her fish . The salmon was lovely and pizza good . I had fish and I thought it was ok but chips were disappointing

We’ve just enjoyed a wonderful evening , the food was lovely and so was the staff . The Midland has a warm, welcoming feeling . The only slight let down was the Polenta cake , which was dry ( sorry ) But it didn’t spoil the experience. Thankyou Judith

Great service and lovely meals. We'll presented with decent portion sizes and good quality ingredients. All needs catered for. Although we ate inside, the outdoor terrace is in a lovely location next to the river.

We have eaten at the restaurant many times over the years and the menu was new to us last night. The food was excellent and the staff were super friendly. It has been beautifully redecorated inside. We will definitely go again.
