The menu was a little limited. Only 2 desserts and no cheese board, which is my favourite. The restaurant was handy for the theatre but nothing to write home about

The food is obviously pre-prepared and possibly even off-site? The restaurant wasn't that busy but we found it frustrating getting service albeit staff were very friendly.

Bit disappointed that not a few more choices perhaps a starter even if bread and dips. Food was nice but on the small portion size. Not much choice on Alcohol free drinks. Lots of 0% around now, majority of patrons drive to the venue can't believe you don't cater for them.

A very pleasant dining experience. Excellent service, prompt arrival of food. The only negative was that the duck terrine comes without toast or bread: neither my wife nor I have ever eaten pate or terrine without toast or bread so this seemed strange.

Service is always prompt and excellent, great balance, neither hurried nor waiting around for the next course. The food is great value, and not too expensive for the quality you get and how it's presented.

Having dined at the restaurant many times, we were disappointed in the meal. I started with the veloute ( soup ) with an extra for bread . The soup was good but the small roll was stale. i noted that if I had ordered a nibble of bread the rolls were those pre-baked and obviously fresher. The insult was to be charged £1 for the stale roll. The main of the braised steak was very tender but the green vegetables had hardly hit the pan and not possible to be cut. Finally my wife had the special sponge pudding which was served cold - not enjoyable. On each occasion, having mentioned concerns to the waiter, the reply was " I will tell the chef". Really not acceptable.

It was very pleasant but I thought the portions were a little small. We have already said that more biscuits with the cheese would have been appreciated.

We had a very pleasant meal, as we have had previously when visiting the Chichester Festival Theatre and of course the location is very convenient. Unfortunately, on this occasion the service was distinctly on the slow side. We had allowed an hour and a half before the performance started, which should have been sufficient, but we did not have time for a dessert course and had to drink our coffee somewhat quickly. However, that experience would not prevent us from going in future.

Good food and excellent service. Didn't like the discretionary service charge of 12% added to the final bill (and didn't pay). Wines listed - but not the beers ) although the waitress knew what was available)

Very poor, we were both very dissatisfied. We have eaten in The upstairs restaurant many times and also had the sharing platters, but on this occasion the platters were very poor and didn’t look very appealing. Many people left while we were there. We will be very apprehensive about eating in this restaurant again

The food was excellent. I had the pickled cucumber and prawn starter. My main was the belly of pork, both were excellent. The surroundings are welcoming clean and smart.

A very enjoyable meal but I do feel it is a little overpriced. As we were with an elderly uncle who cannot walk far, we were happy to eat in the Minerva for convenience but for choice, we would book a cheaper restaurant in town. The presentation of the dishes was superb but the starters were too small in portion size as were the main dishes, especially in the portion of vegetables. The wine choice was also expensive but that is not unusual for restaurants!

Always tasty food in this restaurant. It’s a must for pre-theatre dining and always our first choice. We’ve not been disappointed yet. Love it when there is a beetroot themed starter as in the summer months.

I did not think much of your ‘shared board’ idea. If I have an odd number in the group - one is left with soup and sweet - as there is no other choice under your shared board scheme. The soup by the way was excellent. The general feeling was that the boards were not good value. The Eton Mess (no choice) was not Eton Mess. It was delicious red fruit and cream but no meringue mixed in, just two small pieces on the top. I’m sorry to say not a success. I hope we will come again and have a different experience.

My daughter and I dined at The Brasserie before seeing Macbeth. The food was excellent, but the portions extremely tiny. We are not big eaters, so it seemed sufficient for us. Had our husbands been with us, however, they would have still been hungry. Normally, I cannot eat three courses, but on this occasion, as I was still peckish, I ordered a dessert. 15 minutes later it still hadn’t turned up and as time was running short we left without my having it.

The Brasserie was not very busy for a Saturday evening. A new self service type system has been introduced for the winter season. You have to order and pay at the bar. They still wait on you with the drinks and food but that is all, this has allowed them to cut the staffing to a fraction of what it usually is. Unfortunately my husband only got a credit card receipt no bill as such, l was unable to check if they had still added the usual 12% service charge! The menu was also very different a lot less to choose from. We shared the fish platter as a starter which was ok, the slices of white bread were rather disappointing. We then had the steak, it was over cooked, not medium rare as requested and a tad on the chewy side. We visit on a regular basis, this was our most disappointing visit for a long time.

lovely restaurant with panoramic views of the park, Staff charming and service excellent, Very limited menu, I ordered the `pollock dog` which was a tiny piece of fried fish sitting in an enormousd frankfurter roll covered with mayonnaise. The chips were nice but it was accompanied by a small portion of red cabbage. Obviously the managemnt were trying to economise on serving a normal healthy portion of fish and chips. My friends hamburger was slightly better, Try in future not to make this false economies and disguise them.

We had an extremely nice meal last night prior to seeing 'Oklahoma'. What struck us most was the excellent service that your team of youngsters gave us. They were polite, helpful, and eager to please. It made the evening so much nicer. The food was enjoyable and your team were only too pleased to help sort out the right food for my husband, who is very allertic to garlic. Thank you.

Group of 10 for pre theatre supper. Menu very suitable and everyone liked their food. Mains very well cooked. One of our party has severe dairy intolerance and waiting staff were very helpful with information, going to check for butter on potatoes etc. Desserts very pretty and appetising. Cheese selection good and well kept. Fig bread very fast but very chewy.

Pleasant surroundings with good service but the Pimms Jelly sweet was not up to the standard one expects from the Minerva.
