With its 15C origins and smartly thatched roof it looks like a typical English pub – and inside there’s a cosy beamed bar filled with locals kicking ...

Excellent
A special birthday lunch and we were not disappointed. Our only criticism was that the foie grass terrine was too cold and the brioche that accompanied it, we didn’t think was the right accompaniment. The rest was fabulous.
Out there n the sticks, but worth the drive. Excellent food, the staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The food was amazing, we would definitely visit again
Superb food and fantastic service as always. This has now become mine and my friend's annual birthday meal venue... next year will be the fourth year. They always go the extra mile and this year was no exception having to manage the issues related to COVID. Thank you guys!
Faultless service, wonderful food can not fault
Our booking was the first lunch service after the second lock down. The staff were delightful, the food delicious and we had a wonderful experience. The tasting menu was our choice an a recommendation for a Uruguayan wine. Totally excellent. Highly recommended.
A lovely Oxfordshire Pub with delicious food and fantastic service. If you're considering booking this venue then I thoroughly recommend you just go ahead and just do it!
The Nut Tree is always superb. Top quality imaginative food, excellent wine list and attentive but not overly obtrusive service. Lovely setting too. My only criticism is the excessive number of reminders about my booking from The Fork - at least 3 this morning! As if I would forget a lunch I have been looking forward to for weeks!
It’s rare to find a place that lives up to expectations. Here we found it with the chef matching its promise and the staff outstanding in their care and competence. Not inexpensive but value for money
Sublime, outstanding, no words can describe how cathartic this whole experience is. Servers are professional, knowledgeable but warm. Food was beautifully presented and melt in the mouth. A night here feels like a treat, a rejuvenation and a memory filled into one. Second visit of many.
Excellent food and service. Friendly and helpful staff in an ideal setting. Can’t rate the food and wine tasting menu highly enough. Will be going as soon as we can.
Amazing! Welcome back to the Nut Tree. Open again and as good as always. Great food, drink & service... we’ve missed you Welcome back Nut Tree. We’ll be back soon kids too. Thank you!
Delicious food all set in an idealic country setting. Friendly and approachable staff
Excellent, as always!
There is a mismatch between the food , the cost and the kind of service received. The two young waitresses need some serious training, did they tell us what the specials were or offer to hang our coats, NO. The pub serves a nice range of sherry by the glass, the waitress seemed to think it was sold the by glass size (as per the wine) and got quite annoyed when we couldn't pick a size, it was just one size. When it came to ordering dessert we asked for a little time before choosing, but that seemed to not sit well with the staff so on the third time the waitress came to ask, she said look are you having dessert or not! The two male waiters were very good and helpful, but it was marred by the other waiting staff. It was local pub service at top restaurant prices.. It is not a place to linger, we couldn't wait to get out of there..
Great meal
Excellent service; friendly, relaxed, attentive but not obtrusive. Atmosphere: intimate, cosy, relaxed Food: exquisite, delicious from starter to desserts. Little tasters were amazing. The mushroom soup was amazing. It was simply a beautiful experience from beginning to end. I would highly recommend the Nuttree for any special occasion.
I had the tasting menu with my partner a few weeks backs. The best dish was the amuse bouche with a piece of bread that you could choose between the different beads. The rest of the tasting menu I found it a bit disappointing as I was supposed to be having dinner in a Michelin star restaurant from 2008. We were sat by the fire in the old part of the restaurant - it was a very nice table! But every time someone walked near us, the floor was "jumping" like we were having an earthquake.
A lovely Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. Food tastes different at the Nut Tree. Try it!
Very good quality and presentation of food. Loved the veloute, foie gras and roast beef.
Tasting menu provided an array of contrasting flavours, beautifully balanced meal. A dining experience of the highest order. Wine flight to match was an excellent complement to the meal.
