The staff were friendly but service was slow and the food was very average for a place that you’d expect better. We could not get a straw for our toddler which I found utterly ridiculous - they had issues with “touching” it - yet handled our plates and drinks ... ! The venue itself was lovely, great ambiance however - food was bland and dissatisfying. Our toddler choked and yet we not attended. Not value for money and certainly wouldn’t go back which is a shame as it linked with a brand we enjoy, De Vere.

Staff were pleasant and polite. The decor was pleasant but there was a weird mix of brown and blue seating. I went for the chilli hot dog at a £13 and had high expectations and my wife had the burger. The food arrived the burger looked nice but my hot dog looked well a little depressing with no onions rings and a small pot of chips which for £13 didn’t feel even slightly good value for money. A Wetherspoons has a more appetising hot dogs included a drink for half the price. I had heard the food was average from other reviews on here but I was willing to give it a go but unfortunately they were correct. They’d also decided to open one of the doors to the restaurant ajar in which isn’t the best on a cold October night and wouldn’t be an issue had they decided to make use of the larger open fire place. This place has an amazing view and location but the prices of both drinks and meal were expensive for the experience

Table service was good and food came quickly. We chose different dishes and all were nice. Had a lovely view over the lake from our table. Covid guidelines were being properly observed and we felt safe.

We had a very warm welcome, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We sat in the sun on the decking enjoying the views of the lake. We chose two of the vegan mains and loved them. Only tiny prob was no dairy free milk for the coffee! I definitely recommend the Boathouse!

We were here last 7 years ago and loved the location, atmosphere and food then. The place looks very different to how we remembered it, it’s much more roomy and brighter, which we liked. Shame it was raining and had to eat in. Hopefully when we visit the area again, we will get an opportunity to eat outside. The COVID-19 setup in the restaurant is excellent, we felt very comfortable and knowledgeable things were being correctly addressed. Our food was great value and well cooked. We will be back, thank you and to the staff keep safe. Paul & Julie Smith Shropshire

Usual enjoy going here but menu had changed, no light meals just full meals for lunch. Menu on line still had old menu. Had a charcuterie started which was very basic. One type of meat and only a few circles with a few geeking and flat bread, at £9.00 it was very disappointing. I won’t be going again the standard has dropped since before lockdown.

Beautiful restaurant. We've been here 4 times now and we always have a fantastic meal. Great food, nice atmosphere plenty of hand sanitizer and the staff were very welcoming. Felt like a normal night considering we have a pandemic going on x

Amazing service from mark and Chloe we visited twice as we were staying in the de Vere hotel next door. Lovely views but more importantly food was great staff were all COVID compliant and everything was great now booked for lunch today and would recommend and visit again good menu on the Monday to Wednesday as their doing the eat out for less in August and the normal menu was great too but try the steak was amazing

Staff were polite and helpful and were much better than my previous visit about a month ago - especially in terms of not keeping us waiting. Good was very good and we had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch

The setting and food was excellent however we waited over an hour for food and our order has obviously been forgotten or missed which made the overall experience very disappointed ☹️

A return visit. Staff still getting to grips with Covid requirements - for example an uncleared table was allowed to be used before clean up. Service was v good. Food not so good with several items unavailable. Superb location.

I thought the food was nice enough but a slither of veg and 2 halved roast potatoes for £17 was overpriced. I guess this is due to location as they can overcharge holiday makers. Not sure I'll be back.

My daughter bought us a night away for our Christmas, it was on Valentine’s Day, so booked a meal at your restaurant... I can’t fault the service or the food quality, but, the amount was disappointing, I have been to many restaurants and normally with a meal they take out a tray of vegetables to compliment your meal, we were waiting for the vegetables, but nothing appeared, all my other half got was a few pureed squiggles and a chewy duck breast.. the puddings were but a mouthful, we don’t get out that often, and haven’t got a lot of money, it was quite expensive and I felt we didn’t get value for money, my daughter had spent a lot of her hard earned cash to do something special for us and I feel that the meal had put a damper on the evening and maybe wish she had spent her money better.. we had to lie to her and say it was lovely and we really enjoyed it, which was not true .. We were very disappointed...

Lovely surroundings but extremely expensive for what you get. Had to send back meal due to it being chewy and very hard to cut

Excellent restaurant atmosphere, great service and good value. The children were catered for with right-sized portions which were all eaten...… Good long opening hours means the restaurant is busy but not oppressively full. Thank you De Vere for a great Sunday lunch.
