6.5/10Overall experience not bad but could do with some improvements. 1). Staff very friendly and helpful when they were available. Unfortunately they were understaffed and from sitting down it was nearly half an hour before we were offered drinks. When paying the bill I had to look for a member of staff after a while as no one was around to take payment. 2). The food was cooked well but had obviously been standing under heat lamps for some time. My peas arrived dried out and my friend egg set hard. My gammon steak though was tender and delicious and I did enjoy the fresh slice of grilled pineapple. My guest was not impressed with her chicken parmigiana and said the crumble coating was dried out and tough around the edges. My wife did enjoy her salad. Whilst I appreciate Friday afternoons are most probably busy and normally your standards are higher I must admit I did not leave with a ‘must come back soon’ feeling. I hope these comments may be helpful

8/10He service was very good, the staff were really nice, food was slightly slow coming out but it was very busy and worth the wait. Car park was busy but could park ok. Will definitely go back again.

10/10We had an absolutely gorgeous meal. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have chosen a better venue. Only staying in Climping for two nights, we chose the Oyster Catcher not knowing what we would be faced with. The pub is welcoming and inviting in smart but casual surroundings. The staff were attentive, friendly and polite without being pushy or insincere. Our meal was sensational, tasty Chicken Curry for him and Garlic Lamb Skewer for me. Fabulous! Thank you for making our celebration all the more memorable.

8/10overall The Oystercatcher is good. It would be nice to have the option of choosing how many scoops of ice cream you would like. I am diabetic and I do not always want 3 scoops of ice cream. Also be nice to have a rough idea of Carbohydrates in the meals. I realise you cannot give spot on amounts but just an idea would be very helpful.

9.5/10Superb food, great service although a little pricey. Calamari and crab cakes to start which were perfectly done (a little side salad would have been nice, though, as the plate looked a little bar). Both the lamb and pork were beautifully tender, and just the right amount. The desserts were good but didn't blow our socks off. All in all, a pricey meal (£110 for two ppl incl. drinks and coffees) but actually worth it.

10/10Upon arrival we were shown straight to table and waitress was very attentive. Ambiance was lovely very clean and tables well spaced so didn’t feel overwhelming. Food was lovely ☺️

10/10Having passed the Oystercatcher and watched its refurbishment being made, and we were interested to see the results. It has been refurbished beautifully and our experience was certainly a pleasure amongst lovely surroundings, which we will no doubt be repeating in the near future. Food and serve excellent.

10/10Came for our Festive Christmas Work Meal and Liz was Amazing! Very nice and helpful! Food was lovely, would defo recommend the Festive Menu we all had something different and all rated it highly.

4/10Took ages to get seated, was then told no Prosecco, no burger’s and no pizzas. When we did receive our food was ver average. Unless something drastically changes we won’t be going back anytime soon.

9/10Service from Liz is always spot on. Always a smile and nothing is too much trouble. The food is good and well presented and arrives in a timely manner. A little noisy at times, but that is to be expected at peak/holiday times. The only criticism is that it can get quite warm inside which is a bit uncomfortable for the staff as well as the customer.

2/10I booked the table the usual way with 3 guests. Arrived just before 2 and was advised I wasn't on list and no tables available. I showed the Manager my booking and confirmation, she thought I must have been talking about somewhere else. There it was on my phone. She had a table in the back room, if we wanted to wait. We waited and 20 mins later our table was ready, good. One of my guests had the roast turkey, just one slice and lots of skin and fat. Overdone veg. We all had different and my lunch was just okay. Same with other guest just OK. We had our lunch at 3.30.arrived at 1.50 for 2 o clock. I use the Oyster Catcher all the time but didn't know the Manager. Emma is a lovely lady and helped us, but my guest refused to send the turkey back. All in all not the experience it should have been. In my opinion for what it's worth, the place was overbooked, many items had run out. We came away very unhappy.

10/10Lovely ambience, good ,friendly service, the choice of food excellent. All our meals were tasty,well cooked and presented. The Flowerpot dessert not only looked amazing it tasted good too! So glad we went to The Oyster Catcher,will definitely go again.

4.5/10Lacking in atmosphere. Sad to see an unlit open fire at Christmas - a regrettable oversight. Food good but service lacking -would have appreciated desserts with coffee not afterwards.

9/10Liz our waitress was delightful; funny, warm and polite. The food was delicious although it did seem that the fish and chip portions were much smaller than on previous visits pre covid. I imagine this is due to the economical climate so understandable. Tasty though!

4/10We were not allowed to sit at the table we booked due apparently to a staff shortage. Within minutes however someone else was sitting at that very table!

10/10I always go to the Oyster Catcher, even Christmas Day several times. Always take people there, it's fairly local and the Staff are very personable. I really cant say I've had a bad meal there.

10/10Attention to covid Guidelines which was a great start. Greeted when we arrived and given a choice of inside or out. Lovely, clean pub with a Cosy feel. Service was quick and friendly and food was delicious. Was given time to chat when we had finished and not rushed. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank-you !
