Lovely setting on the river with ample parking. Good food, friendly staff and service as good as it can be when really busy, which it often is

Really excellent food, delicious and served with great attention to detail. Friendly, attentive but unfussy staff, and a nice vibe. Recommend the Crab and Prawn Linguini

It has been a few years since I last ate at the Plough and the food is even better than ever! A fantastic choice and range if food. So much choice , that the menus are written in smaller writing just to squeeze them all in on two sides of paper! A really lovely meal and experience altogether.

The menu was limited but the descriptions were inviting. After asking the waiter if green veg was included with the main dish we were told yes but in fact the menu had been changed and we got no vegetables. In fairness we got a complimentary sweet but we weren’t after a freebie. We travelled 25 mile each way on a recommendation.

Last went to the Plough a couple of years ago. Was as good as I remembered and hopefully it won’t be so long before I get back again. With the better weather it is a great place to eat outside.

Service was slow. Drinks took a long time to be served. Payment of the bill was painfully slow. Basically the staff ignored us! Food was disappointing certainly not as good as the last time we visited.

This place has a lovely location by the river. Very expensive. I had the king prawns for a starter , just A few rubbery prawns in a supposedly tomato sauce with chilli tasted like prawns in a tin of tomatoes. My husband had the breads with dip and olives, nice bread but very expensive, very average. We both had the rib eye steak , both had to be returned , mine being so chewy and my husbands , dripping in blood and tasteless . Both ordered to be cooked medium. Both meals were replaced, my steak much nicer but the tomato and mushroom were cold ? Not warm) my husband chose to replace his steak with the pork which was quite nice. Very disappointing overall. We won’t be returning.

A pleasant riverside pub restaurant that tries to do a good job. Nice ambience, hard working staff, kids menu and fair variety. Food quality so-so but portions are gigantic. Suspect that kitchen is understaffed as dishes served tasted like they had spent some time on the warming plate. Beautiful surroundings and plenty of space makes up the overall experience. All in all, you could do a lot worse for a traditional Sunday lunch in Cambridge.

Great find. We went on a river Cam boat trip from the pub car park. We had booked lunch the day before. Super menu. It was a very hot day, we were seated on the outside terrace overlooking the river. Perfect.

I came to The Plough for lunch with a friend having booked in advance online. It was every bit as good as we had anticipated from our friendly, informative waitress to our aesthetically arranged and delicious tasting food. A warm, convivial mood abounded as we sat chatting on the decking awaiting the arrival of our lunch. The menu was varied and enticing and I could have easily succumbed to many dishes. There was no hurry to move us on as lunch came and went making the whole experience utterly pleasurable. I would certainly recommend The Plough and will be referring

This pub/restaurant has a big outside green space along the river Cam. It was more than half empty when we went for lunch. We booked but no one told us that we were to be put inside, we wanted to sit outside. When we asked the guys behind the bar (manager?) if we could sit not where he wanted to put us, he said that all outside tables were booked. He was also very grudging about even changing the table he had allotted us to inside (we wanted covid distancing). When we left over an hour later, there were still many unused tables both inside and outside. The waitress tried to say that it was all booked up because of 'the Bumps' University races. So the customers' wishes were totally ignored and we still can't understand why we were not allowed to sit outside by the dictator behind the bar. Surely the customer always comes first.

Such a lovely place for a summer's evening meal with friends. Our waiter Steffan couldn't have been more helpful with my medically restricted diet and and the ambiance, food and service were all exemplary! We shall return. :)

A very frosty welcome from the young man who checked us in...a smile would have been nice. Love the decor of the restaurant...very tasteful and comfortable. We had a lovely table. Our waitress was totally fabulous...so efficient and really attentive. She is a great asset to The Plough. My food was terrible! I ordered rotisserie chicken. It was dry and almost inedible. It was supposed to be flavoured with truffle. It had no flavour whatsoever and was served with a very salty gravy. My husband's meal was much better! The holumi fries were excellent. To sum up... very ordinary pub grub at restaurant prices.

Good. Food was good, a little too much on the plate. Service was excellent- we were very well looked after.
